D&D General Experiences with Empire of the Ghouls, Night Below, or Other Underdark Adventures?

I also really loved D1-3 when I ran it for a 3rd edition game. I have an inexplicable fondness for Kuo-toa.

    D&D 5E (2014) New WotC Survey! Learn About A New D&D Product!

Didn't get the NDA. Maybe they took it out once all the beans were spilled.

I Do Not Understand Buying Computers

I feel you on this. Back in the distant 90's, getting a new computer was pretty easy. CPU clock speed, RAM, and HDD size all doubled every 2 years, so it was easy to just wait 2 years, put down the the same money, and get a box that was obviously superior.

RPG Print News – Gaming Paper, Gale Force Nine, WizKids, and More

Don't know much about Forgotten Realms but I was reminded of an old "Gold Box" game I played in the 80's called "Gateway to the Savage Frontier" which was indeed set on the Sword Coast north of Waterdeep. I think that's where Neverwinter originated. I guess the terms changed over time.

Justice League: So, who's seen the Snyder Cut?

I had to stop watching at 2 hours because I disliked it so much. I liked but didn't love the theatrical release, but this was worse in every way I could think of. Every scene was 50 percent too long. Most of the added scenes were extraneous and every scene that was removed (the whedon...

Monte Cook Games' Darkest House Is Designed For Online Play

So downloaded the demo and played with it a bit. First off, whatever it's pros and cons, this is not a pdf. This basically a website compiled into a standalone app. (It comes with a couple of pdf's as well). So this is an interactive adventure with links to throw text and images to online...

Monte Cook Games' Darkest House Is Designed For Online Play

I don't play online, so I guess it's not for me, but I do appreciate that Monte Cook Games experiment with the format of RPG products. Going to try and check out the demo.

Official RPG for Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra announced

I love Avatar but I'm not normally into licensed RPGs. However my ears perked up at Magpie. I really hope it's PbtA based as we're suspecting. I thought Zombie World was a really cool take on a card based PbtA game, I'm just not that into Walking Dead type rpg settings. A lighter setting I...

Sorry for being dense but what is the actual facelift? Is there a graphical design change?

    D&D 5E (2014) 3 Classic Settings Coming To 5E?

Greyhawk is my favorite setting, but I feel it's been rendered for parts at this point, and I've accepted that. Dark Sun is my next favorite setting. This has to happen. I think this will work as a campaign setting book. But why not a boxed set? One can dream. Dragonlance would work as a...

D&D General Typical procedure after character death?

Personally I think it's important that a player can keep playing their character if they want. There isn't a way to stop it mechanically, since they can just roll up a clone, which leads to a lot of dissonance. I would just knock out/defeat/capture the character instead of killing, until a...

Can’t believe I didn’t know about Zombie World. That’s like my dream game come true, rules wise.

Pathfinder 2E Here's What's Coming For Pathfinder Over The Coming Year

I believe it's Abomination Vaults. Had to look it up though to be sure, RPG's are good at using words I've never heard of.

Graveyard Shift is a free WH40K: Wrath & Glory Adventure

Yikes, that's quite the grimdark intro! I'm sort of fascinated by the 40k setting, but I haven't found a reason why I'd want to roleplay in it.

Monte Cook Games’ Next Kickstarter Is Ptolus (for 5E and Cypher)

I'm guessing you already knew this, but for the other people's sake, the extras for Ptolus included a 6 page, 300+ item random encounter list that had a matrix of results based on the quarter of the city and the time of day.

Ah well maybe we should start discussing dwarven (thread) necromancers! I feel a new character concept coming on!
