    Make Whole on Damaged Objects

On Make Whole It appears that if the weapon is only damaged then Make Whole will repair it. However, if the item was actually broken then you would need to use the Craft Arms and Armor feat.

[OT] Am I the only one who is getting excited for Star Wars - Attack of the Clones

Most everybody I know is totally not interested in seeing Episode II. If the trailer was the best two minutes of film that they could put together to hype this movie, then it looks totally lame. The worst character in Episode I was Anakin Skywalker. Jar Jar was annoying and could have been...

    Are Spells Balanced by Level?

A couple of points here. 1) Fine remove scaling -- but what are you going to remove from the fighter/thief/cleric to balance it ? There is no fundamental difference between a Wizard/Sorcerer smackdown versus a Barbarian/Fighter/Paladin/Ranger smackdown. When you talk about removing scaling...

Actions that can be performed in a Grapple

I had considered this as well, however, it looks to me like once you are in a grapple, doing anything other than escape is a full round action. You don't seem to have the standard action option. You might rule that someone could draw a dagger as a full round action if they won their grapple...

    Are Spells Balanced by Level?

Spells are not absolutely balanced by level. Each spell has to be evaluated based upon what function it serves. Depending up what the DM emphasizes depends on which spells are more useful. Illusion falls into either really lame or amazingly powerful depending upon the cleverness of the player...

    [Advice Needed] Speeding Up Battle

Simple solutions: Role d20 + damage in one roll, so you don't have to roll twice. Creatues that have multiple attacks: have several sets of colored dice -- I have 4 (blue, green, black, red) roll one set for each attack with same colored damage dice. Don't allow any player to reference a...

    Can druid shield bash?

Yes, but unless they have Ambidexterity/Two-Weapon fighting they would have to only shield bash to have an effective attack.

Rapid Shot vs. Two Weapon Fighting

True, but I would rather be power attack/mauled with subdual damage than worry about saving the weapon for our barbarian. Improved disarm helps here too if you think that the weapon is of any value. But better to sunder it and pay to have it fixed later than die to it.:D

Actions that can be performed in a Grapple

    Are Prestige Classes Really Necessary?

Oriental Adventures Martial Arts Styles IMHO, the implementation of martial arts styles makes more sense than the current proliferation of prestige classes. This idea of styles is easily extended to more than martial arts situations. Basically, a style is a grouping of related skills and...

    Are Prestige Classes Really Necessary?

I dislike the prestige class idea in general All of the prestige classes could just be built from skills and feats. The problem lies in how rigidly the core classes are defined. The reason the Human Fighter class is so popular is because it is extremely customizable. If the other classes had...

Rapid Shot vs. Two Weapon Fighting

Re: Re: Re: Rapid Shot vs. Two Weapon Fighting Sunder is a great feat when you fight a lot of weapon using foes -- especially if you are a fighter whose sword advances in power like the Samurai from OA. I have a strength fighter with a two-handed sword that fights a lot of guys that use...

    Quick draw?

Drawing the weapon is a MEA unless you have the Quickdraw feat. So your 10th level fighter cannot use the full attack action UNLESS he has the Quickdraw feat.

    Adjudicating Readied Actions

After a ready action takes place, it seems like a simpler solution to have those involved reroll initiative to determine which one will go first the next time that initiative count comes back up.

Too much magic in DnD - lets do something about it !

What you are referring to here is what MAGE calls coincidental versus vulgar magic. If by low magic you mean coincidental, then you might want to check out Mage the Ascension for some ideas on how to implement this. You might not have to change D&D at all, just add consequences to using vulgar...

    Stackable AC?

See the D&D FAQ This is discussed very well in the D&D FAQ: My group’s having some difficulty with the Expertise feat. What happens when you use Expertise along with Two-Weapon Fighting? Do you get the Armor Class bonus from Expertise once for each weapon? Once for each attack? What...

Ray Winninger's Realm Rules (Dragon 293)

I agree with you, but his method is just a simple starting point. You could also add more variety of resources (Fuel, Construction, Food). Or even break those down further. Plus, I think his system was designed for running only a few seasons of campaign. At the rate your average D&D...
