    Epic! Yes. Fail? Maybe.

To often this word is over used, but in this case, this is completely appropriate. THIS.

    New Legends & Lore

30 minutes is my target too. Anything less than that, and you're really getting down to strictly doing straight up damage, without any tactics. I'm not sure that's really all that fun myself. You still need some sort of tactics to deal with. Torg handled it with the Drama Deck mechanic. D&D...

There is a request to email them if you think an option was missed (which I did think, and did respond).

    New Legends & Lore

I'd like a character build where you don't need to make plans before acting, but where options pop up during the resolution. Much like stunts in Dragon Age.

D&D 4E What should the next new official campaign setting for 4e be like?

Spelljamming and Sigil just aren't remotely the same compared to the original settings.

Blog post: Speeding up Combat #3 - Barking up the Wrong Tree

You have to remember though that the idea is for there to be more smaller encounters. If they're only fighting 2-3 standard monsters, or say, 1 Elite and a bunch of minions, they might be okay with not using Daily powers, and certainly not a bunch of them.

D&D 4E What should the next new official campaign setting for 4e be like?

With the Despair Deck in the Shadowfell boxed set, that's actually starting to sound a lot like Ravenloft anyways.

D&D 4E What should the next new official campaign setting for 4e be like?

Nations of the Known World of Mystara (the main campaign setting) included ones that were similar to: Medieval Britain Ancient Rome Mongols Vikings Saudi Arabia Renaissance Italy American Indians In addition, there were nations in the Hollow World that were similar to: Ancient Greece Ancient...

D&D 4E What should the next new official campaign setting for 4e be like?

That would be Mystara/Hollow World. That's actually it's schtick.

D&D Minis... Who is bumbed about the end of production?

Dragons. I'd love to see a Dragons Collector's set. One each of the classic chromatics in large and huge? Sold.

The 4e Distribution Model has Failed...

One thing that seems to have been lost in all this is that despite the fact that three of the books were cancelled, there are two that haven't been: Heroes of Shadow Players Handbook: Champions of the Heroic Tier. Perhaps when Heroes of Shadow comes out, we'll have a better idea why not.

D&D in 2011: From Books to Digital

Then let's just take this to the ridiculous conclusion. WotC hasn't said that they'll come to our houses, and collect our old books and burn them. But now I'm going to run with the idea that they're going to do that and rail against it. And WotC is going to make DM's wear the "I'm a DM"...

D&D in 2011: From Books to Digital

Okay, so pick up the PHB1, MM1, PHB2, MM2, PHB3, MM3. They're still available. Heck, as far as I know, every book WotC has published since 4e started is still in print. The question is what WotC does from here on out. The bottom line is that they cannot make money selling splat books...

D&D in 2011: From Books to Digital

That's what Essentials was all about. They're the books for beginners that WotC has stated will stay in print. You have a new player? You can hand him Heroes of the Forgotten Lands. Really, all this gnashing of teeth regarding WotC going 100% digital is massively over-extrapolating the news...

    Ampersand: 2011 releases officially gutted

Where are people getting this idea that D&D is going 100% digital? There's no evidence for this, and they just spent several months publishing products that they've stated that are intended to stay in print, and are the products that game stores are expected to keep on hand. That would be...

    Ampersand: 2011 releases officially gutted

Obviously I have no idea about the relative numbers of the DDI customers vs. people who buy just the books, but given WotC's actions and the fact that the last survey was for DDI members only, I have to think that a large majority of their paying customers are DDI subscribers. Given that, they...

    Ampersand: 2011 releases officially gutted

Exactly. There was a survey of DDI users, who are after all, the month-to-month customers of WotC regarding what form they wanted their product in. I don't know about others, but I had _zero_ interest in buying anymore crunch books. I bought Martial Power 1, but that was the last Power Book I...
