Looking back down the corridor with the cobwebs. The webs themselves don't look too thick, but there are a lot of them. Clement peers down the corridor and pulls an oil flask out of his pack. "What do you say gentlemen, are we doing this?

Gauging Interest Emperor of the Fading Suns PBEM

Thanks for the bump. Still no joy though. Regarding the time commitment, with 36 hour turns and 5 players you'd typically be looking at 1 to 2 turns per week, so it isn't a massive time commitment. A turn usually takes me about 20 minutes to play, and then I'll spend another 20 or so sending...

just checking in to make sure everyone is OK. Leif you're presently standing down the corridor away from a bunch of Kobolds that don't seem to have noticed you yet.

Gauging Interest Emperor of the Fading Suns PBEM

So a couple months back I got bit hard by the nostalgia bug for a game called Emperor of the Fading Suns. Specifically I've been playing Emperor of the Fading Suns with a mod (that is still in active development) called Emperor Wars, which is itself built on the old Reality mod. At any rate...

    Dwimmermount IC:

Carefully edging down the hall you see a half dozen Kobolds occupying the room. The seem to be guards, but it would appear that they are most concerned with guarding the passage to the east and preventing anything from entering the cave complex that you are in. In other words, they are looking...

Emperor of the Fading Suns. Anyone remember this?

I got bit by the nostalgia bug a while back and dug this out of the closet. I'd forgotten how much damn fun it is. Of course the original release was buggy as hell but I found an absolutely amazing mod called Emperor Wars where some guy has (in addition to bugfixes and AI improvements) slowly...

    Dwimmermount IC:

The second passageway leads down another corridor much like the one that Brother Jimi saw. After looking for a moment you think you might see the glimmer of light around a bend to the left. Someone, or something has a torch down there.

Temple of Elemental Evil: Run time

It can take quite a while. The dungeon tends to be very 'meat grindery' at points. Lots of running in and out to heal up. At the end of the day ToEE is probably one of the biggest modules produced by TSR so it's a pretty big undertaking to DM. At the end of the day I wouldn't look at it in...

Temple of Elemental Evil: Run time

Are you talking about T1 Village of Homlett or the full temple? T1 can be done in a couple sessions. The Temple of Elemental Evil is practically a mega dungeon. I've seen entire campaigns centered around it.

    Dwimmermount IC:

The old concrete crumbles away revealing a small alcove with the glimmer of gold inside. Pulling the coin out you find 40 old Thulian gold coins and 100 pieces of silver. Old coinage has a variable value. At the very least a Thulian coin is worth double it's equivalent value in either...

Still no keyhole. Tapping around at it some more though you are more convinced that it is hollow within.

D&D 5E (2014) Wotc needs to clean up retail shelves

You know the only titles that a store like B&N are going to care about facing with is the top 20 New York Times bestsellers and anything that they are getting paid to care about. And besides, I'm pretty sure that anyone who is literate enough to be interested in D&D is going to be able to see...

Advanced Dungeons & Dragons and the original Basic D&D - your experiences?

We play a total mish-mash. We use the thieves tables from B/X, the spell lists from AD&D, B/X initiative, treasure tables and monsters from AD&D, classes from both, XP tables from Labyrinth Lord... Our go to reference books at the table are Labyrinth Lord except for Item Saving Throws which...

Hell of a haul at my FLGS

We'll have to wait and see if I'm sleeping on the couch after the credit card statement arrives.

Hell of a haul at my FLGS

So since I've stopped keeping current with D&D (I'm in year 7 of a B/X AD&D mashup campaign) I've been making fewer and fewer trips to my FLGS. I generally just go once every few months to check out their used section for old Judges Guild things, old modules, or extra copies of the B/X rules (I...

Jimi: You're not 100% sure, but shining the light from your lantern down the corridor it would appear to be reflecting off of something that looks vaugely like spiderwebs. Midgrim: No it seems like a simple iron key. Well made, and it's been there for quite some time on account of the rust...

    Dwimmermount OOC

On a happier note, my hardcopy of Dwimmermount has finally arrived... Well technically it's at a Purilator holding tank until I go pick it up tomorrow, but after over two and a half years since I kickstarted it that's bloody well close enough. I have to say too, I think it's been worth the wait.
