How Do I Change My Google Chrome Settings?

Google Chrome: The Power User's Guide to Google Chrome Short version: ad and flash blocking aren't quite there yet. You have to install a proxy server, which is more than most people are willing to do. I'm sure there will be plugins eventually.

    I can't get into Wikipedia?

Worked fine for me all day, it's up right now. Might be your ISP. Reboot, clear your browser cache, etc...

    EN World on Google Chrome

Wait until you have one tab crash but it leaves the rest of the browser standing. That's a feature worth switching for.

    Firefox - 3 Questions

In firefox 2, standard zooming only worked on the text. In 3, it zooms everything proportionately, but you can check a box to make it only do the text.

    Firefox - 3 Questions

That seems to vary by site. It works on lifehacker.com but doesn't seem to work in EN World. You do have to let the first page load fully, otherwise your location doesn't get cached in it and it just reloads it from scratch. I don't think there's a way to "force" it.

    Firefox - 3 Questions

I'm not a huge fan of NoScript, it kills a bit too much for me. It certainly makes your browsing safer, but I prefer FlashBlock. It just blocks flash objects from running, and you click them to play. It's got whitelisting too. You should also take a look at Objection, which is a flash cookie...

    FF/Greasemonkey Ignore Script?

ENworld's forum runs on vBulletin software, so you can probably just use a generic script. http://userscripts.org/scripts/search?q=vbulletin+ignore This one in particular seems to do what you want. I haven't tested it. http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/26374

How Does One Make Multiple Links?

The link button looks like a little blue globe with a chain link on it. Select some text, click the globe and enter the URL. Repeat as necessary. You can also just paste in links that start with http:// and they will automatically become clickable in the post. I didn't do anything to this...

    Technical Help - Screen Display

Software is a possibility, but it's really unlikely. 9 times out of 10 what you've described is caused by a bad wire in the monitor cable or connectors. It's probably just coincidence, or maybe the software changes are just exacerbating the problem. You can boot from a linux boot cd or...

PDF editor? May be the wrong place to post..

This should get moved to the software forum. Revinor's right, there are basically no free tools to edit an existing PDF, but there are a lot of free tools to create a PDF from an existing document: PDFCreator, PDF995, CutePDF, OpenOffice, Office 2007's Save to PDF extension. If you need a fast...

    Excel Sheet Assistance Wanted!

Brentos, I'd be happy to give some feedback, but I don't want to join a google group to do it. Can you just attach the excel file to your post? My friend gave me a bit of good advice for excel sheets. Don't feel like you need to make the excel sheet model a paper character sheet. Excel has a...

Is it safe to Uninstall Internet Explorer?

Technically, it just uses IE's rendering engine - the part that displays web pages. The interface and how it decides what to render is done by the Avant shell, which means a good chunk of the security issues are handled by Avant's code rather than IE's. Still, I don't know how vulnerable it is...

Is it safe to Uninstall Internet Explorer?

Avant is actually a shell that runs over IE's rendering engine, so even if you could remove IE, it would break Avant. It adds a bunch of stuff to make it more sane, but honestly, I don't see a lot of info about it being "more secure." If you're worried about security, try Firefox. Unfortunately...

I just use my Google mail account Contacts. It's simple but it works great, is available anywhere and it's easy to export if you need to get it out.

    Wireless N?

If by updating you mean "buying a new router and adapter that are 802.11N compatable" then yes. N wireless stuff should work with all the recent desktop operating systems, assuming they provide drivers.

    Wireless N?

Reveille: You need to figure out the model of the wireless card (in the Device manager, most likely) and check the specs on the manufacturer's site. Sometime's they say clearly, like my "Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN mini-card".

Which Games Work on 64-bit Vista OS?

If you still have a legal copy of Windows XP, you might try running Virtual PC on your Vista machine. Virtual PC is free. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=04d26402-3199-48a3-afa2-2dc0b40a73b6&displaylang=en I have no idea how that will work, running 32-bit XP inside of...

    Making your own power cards

Does anyone have a template that is compatible with pre-cut cards, like business cards or even printable playing cards and such? It'd be cool to be able to just print a sheet and pop them out.

Which Games Work on 64-bit Vista OS?

That's a pretty big question. Here's a short list of native 64 bit games, mostly FPSs. If you're wondering if a particular game has a 64 bit version, your best bet is to check their website for system requirements. http://www.start64.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=190&Itemid=116...
