I hate to break it to you, but you're old. 1990 was 35 years ago!

Pathfinder released 2E not all that long ago. And then a Remastered Edition. D&D has its 2024 edition. I don't think publishers have stopped doing new editions--they've just stopped calling them new editions, as that kills their back catalogue (and any sales in the 1-2 year run-up to the edition).

So we’ve used the fighter pilot approach and that works great, just like regular land based combat does. For a larger ship you can treat things as vignettes. There’s a saboteur in Engineering? A couple of party members rush down there to deal with that. Somebody else handles the starship combat...

We watched the new re-edited version of The Sea Devils on iPlayer just before this, but really struggled with it. It's aged so badly. No amount of editing can save those 70s production values, terrible choreography, and plodding men in rubber suits falling over.

Yeah, UNIT pretty much pointed that out. The sea devils (homo aqua as they're called in the show) seem not to care. Seems like there's at least 3 different species we've seen so far. They apparently have high technology, but they hibernate for millenia. He was in the Xmas one with Kylie...
