    Sneak attack w/ Blinding Barrage?

I think blinding barrage is the best level 1 daily. It hits multiple targets, it grants combat advantage next round for any that you hit cause they are blind, and since they are blind they are less likely to hit your party. None of the other dailys at level 1 can beat that.

    How will this party do?

One thing you might try recommending is have the 2nd wizard be an orb wizard, which is very good for control. This benefits from a high wisdom. Said Orb wizard could then pick up the cleric multiclass, and mabye grab a few cleric multiclass powers. This would add a bit more healing to the party...

    Warlock combo

The target under the warlock's curse would know that it was cursed, and so know that it would take more damage if attacked by the warlock. That doesn't mean that it would know that the warlock had a pact blade. So they wouldn't know they would take damage by hitting the warlock. The damage part...

    How to gain Combat Advantage

I want to 2nd that. Warlord plus rogue is a nice combo. Both Rogue and Warlord can move people around. Once a flank is setup, Warlord can use Viper's Strike to keep things from getting out of the flank without taking an attack.

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

Lots of interesting discussion on this. I will first admit that this post is going to ramble a bit. I do have to say that this is a lot what I expected from comments made by Devs. So I'm not surprised. I do agree that 4e multiclassing looks to lean more towards dabbling then full 50/50 split...

    WotC_Dave: Druid!

PHB2 shifting was actually a swift action and was at-will. So the fact you couldn't use natural spell wasn't a huge loss, but you still have to make some choices. If you were shifted and wanted to cast a spell, you had to spend at least one round in human form since you only get 1 switch action...

Force Orb: Secondary attacks on a miss?

I would have no problem with the wizard targeting the ground or a square. He is basically just using an encounter power to do slightly more damage then an at will power, with a different, possibly better, element(Force vs Fire). My guess is that the reason this spell was not designed as a burst...

    Forced movement abilities

My first thoughts when reading this thread were much like the above, but i started to think about movies and stories rather then D&D and I started to view it a bit differently. What I mean is that in a movie or story, if your fighting near a serious environmental hazard, it often plays a big...

    D&D 4E 4E Liker - anything you worry about?

I have to echo this statement. I have been very pro 4e and I like a lot of the things they have done, however the rogue preview has made me a bit nervous that the classes will be too restrictive in WOTCs attempt to create class roles. My only other fear/dislike so far is the saving throw...

    Ran a playtest adventure tonight

I do agree that is part of the issue. Everyone gets 2 at will abilities generally. Except for the wizard they are all pretty much single target damage with various bonuses effects. However the wizard gets a single target and an AE. The AE does less damage, so unless you can get multiple targets...

"Just House Rule It" and the New DM

I can see what you are saying, everyone has certain expectations and thoughts on how things should go. However I have to say I generally agree with Cadfan. What you are describing is all so individual that there is no way that D&D could cover every POV for every possible player. They have to...

    It's the Actions Economy, Stupid!

I agree, I think a higher level power will be better then a lower level one. Essentially more useful, though not always numerically superior. I have no problem with this and in fact I expect it. I'm fairly sure that you do as well, but I'm not sure if you have stated that or not. Assuming we...

    Abstract HP

So after reading the thread, I'm a bit confused about what people want. I'm fine with hps being abstract and the fact that various environmental and oddball things that do hp damage, but don't fit well doesnt really bother me. Though I do have to admit that I always thought that hp damage...

Of gishes and arcane defencers and whatnot: Is 4th ed. language for everyone?

So by your definition the word car is useless. Since it includes many different kinds of car, and obviously one can never use anything except the word car. I have no problem with the word gish. Since it is a more general term that includes several different kinds of builds, it's not always the...

    Confessions of a Full-Time Wizard 2: Monogamy

I didnt like it quite as much as the first one, though it was still ok. I thought the concept of D&D groups as a relationship was kinda funny, but it felt a bit much by the end of the article. So middling review but I'm definitely interested in reading future articles.

    Good prestige Classes for Druids?

I have to agree with nittanytbone, the only PRC i'm aware of that is better then basic druid is Planar Shepard. It's powerful if you don't abuse it's abilities, it's retardedly broken if you do abuse them. Otherwise, for pure power and flexiblity you want druid 20. If you want to focus on one...

    Speaking of healing belt...

The armor Augment crystal that gives DR is pretty nice for it's cost. I expect many of the characters in my part will aquire one eventually. Cept mabye my conjurer, who doesnt really have armor to attach it to.

    D&D 4E Merric's thoughts on 4e

I have to agree that I've been underwhelmed by Gleemax. I also read all of the Dev Blogs when they were in the forums. But since they moved to Gleemax It's gotten rather difficult. Moving around the webpage is incredibly slow. One other thing that really frustrates me, mabye i'm just blind, but...

Way to get girls (?!): the new column for the new Dragon.

After reading the first few posts in the thread I went and read the article and I have to say I was surprised. From the comments I expected it to be unreadable. However I had no problem reading the article and I found it to be amusing and enjoyable. I actually had no interest in reading her...

D&D 4E Is liking 4E biased by how many books you own?

I have an ok number of D&D books, mabye 20-25 or so. I am definitely looking forward to 4E.
