    D&D 5E Druid WILD SHAPE !

While we are discussing Druids - has there been any resolution on whether a Moon Druid can shift from one form to another directly? I can see it going either way...

D&D 5E Monk and Druid "reviews"

My wife is bouncing back and forth between playing a monk (elemental) or a druid (leaning slightly towards moon). What are peoples actual play experience with them? Do either have issues? I'm aware of the "moon druid hit point" issue with wildshape.

D&D 5E The format of the spell list in the PHB is just plain awful.

I think the spell list is great - alphabetical, without extraneous content. I can't stand anything but alphabetical, though. Level-based, or class-based organization drives me crazy.

    D&D 5E Druid 20 = Infinite Hit Points

I really don't see the problem anymore. It is obvious that the druid must switch to druid form to shift to another form, requiring an extra round. Problem solved ;)

    D&D 5E Druid 20 = Infinite Hit Points

I was looking at the rules for Druid and I don't see how a Druid can shift into a new form without changing back into its normal form first. Wildshape isn't a spell, but a class ability, so it can't be cast while Wildshaped, as far as I can see. So that means the Druid must go back to normal...

    D&D 5E Legends & Lore 03.10.2014: Full-spellcasting Bard

The concept has existed long before you came up with it. Fantasy Craft has them in Action Dice, and that system came out in 2009, D&D itself has had hero point variants. d20 itself had it in the 3E "expansion" Unearthed Arcana, and it is actually part of the SRD...

D&D 5E Things that make you want to buy 5E

"Heavy" feats - seems like an awesome way to do feats. Smooth, fast combat Classes and subclasses Backgrounds Simpler, 2E-ish monsters with 4E-ish enhancements to make them a bit more fun The big thing that makes me want to buy 5E is the hope that WotC will put out some great adventures...

    What happened with Vampire?

How long did it take for you guys to stop saying, "yeah, you know me" - cause I can't stop ;) So, let me just say that Demon is really fun. I like the descriptive phrased you guys use: "Techgnostic Espionage", Not to mention the sentence, "Being a demon in the World of Darkness is like being...

    What happened with Vampire?

Definitely not the 80s, unless you experienced a different set of 80s from me. Vampire took off because it captured the emerging feel of the 90s. Gothpunk, primarily. The games were extremely evocative, and had a lightning-in-the-bottle mixture of many elements that appealed to many groups of...

    D&D 5E [L&L] Campaigns in D&D Next

I couldn't agree with you more. There are fans of all the editions, although mostly 4E because they are the "outgoing edition", that comb through everything said by Mearls et al looking for something to be insulted by. Not all fans, but there's enough that very much turns me off reading most...

D&D 5E What would success look like for Next?

Ah, I've read those threads as well, and I don't remember anything like you describe. I haven't seen any evidence (and I've looked) that the number is accurate other than relatively (it goes up when a person signs up, and goes down when they unsub), which is interesting, but not enough to prove...

D&D 5E What would success look like for Next?

I've seen the source for the "adding/removing a user" test, and for the totals, but not for the "from the beginning" or the "took a dip" data - have a source for those?

    D&D 5E Legends & Lore Archive : 12/9/2013

Ditto. My group is looking forward to trying it once it comes out, for exactly the same reasons. I think there are other design places Next could have ended up that would also appeal to us, but where they seem to be headed is an interesting place for Next as far as I'm concerned. Big feats...

    D&D 5E L&L The Next Phase

There will be plenty of external feedback - just not public. There's private playtesting groups - and it sounds like they are being fairly liberal letting people in - simple, serious interest and proven track record actually playtesting is about all you need. At this point, it's all I want, I...

D&D 5E LL- Subclasses and Complexity

Blinkblink ... what? Create an AD&D fighter and thief, compare them, then get back to me. Even in 3E where the rogue has 4x, at least, the skill points of a fighter, this isn't the case. Only if you squint until your vision blurs out nearly to blindness can you say that. Even in 4E, where...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Publishing Makes Inc Magazine's Top 5000

As another "anecdote point", of the 40 or so gamers I game with or have ever gamed with, there are precisely 2 that go to any gaming forums. One does char op on Wizards, and another posts infrequently to rpg.net. Now, we are sadly going into the "older gamer" category, and so I imagine the...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Publishing Makes Inc Magazine's Top 5000

I think the main realization/discovery by Paizo is that that PDFs and PRDs greatly moved the line so that fragmentation is easier to avoid.

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Publishing Makes Inc Magazine's Top 5000

Honestly, I think they are doing both. It is wrong to say, "Fragment!" as it is to say, "Never Fragment!" Rather, you want to have some fragmentation (Golarion is largely all the D&D settings smushed together) as well as some unification. Or, stated another way, you want a recipe that blends...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Publishing Makes Inc Magazine's Top 5000

Let me phrase it differently, as what I said was shorthand. "Modules don't sell, so we should stop selling modules" is really the false concept that was entrenched in the RPG industry for a long time. It was a myopic focus on single SKU sales, and not realizing that you need to be interested...

    MurderHobos

I like the term when used by those that enjoy the playstyle, and despise the term when used that find themselves "above" the playstyle or use it as a blanket term for any form of D&D they don't enjoy. RPG.net uses the term primarily in the latter fashion, which is why I mostly hate the term.
