    Cloak of Mage Armor

Slightly off topic question, but would you price an item that mimiced the Shield spell at the same price as +4 Bracers of Armor, or would it be slightly higher or lower?

    Druid Archer help

If you can have access to Ranger spells, Hunter's Mercy is a must (assuming you're allowed to use Forgotten Realms books) Hunter's Mercy -1 Standard action, lvl 1 ranger spell Your next attack with a bow (if it is made before the end of the next round) hits and automatically threatens a...

Sorcerer "Swiss Army Knife" Spell selection

It's sorta already been touched on, but if you're going to be moonlighting as an archer, a lot of the stuff (Dex items, Point Blank Shot, etc) will also help your Ray spells, or anything with a ranged touch attack.

    Question about Shackled City (SPOILER)

Well, I don't know that he did, it just seemed that we got through it fairly easily. There were a bunch of save or die throws that we succeeded on, lots of damage dealt, but the healer had Heal and DC 29 sanctuary effects on all his mass conjuration (Healing) spells, the party wizard cast...

    Question about Shackled City (SPOILER)

Quick update, we just had the EL 20 fight, and I gotta say, I think the DM was pulling his punches. We seemed to be in control the entire time, though an Ogre mage and the chick with the eyestalk managed to escape (stupid teleport).

    Question about Shackled City (SPOILER)

I already did, both the party and the DM disagree with me, though to be fair, this is literally the first time we've played at level 12/13 (usually school or somethine causes the campaign to fall apart by 10th level), so they don't know that it will be a common occurance

    Question about Shackled City (SPOILER)

We've had a fair amount of deaths, which is why our average party level is low, but a fair amount have been from rolling 1s. 2 deaths in 1 fight came from rolling a 1 on a massive damage fort save. Then last session our 181 HP tank rolled a 1 on his and died. He had also died earlier from a...

Touch of Healing - How does it work?

We're level 12/13, so when our 181 HP tank gets to 21, this feat will be money saving as all hell

    Question about Shackled City (SPOILER)

We've got 6, and the side-quest/free money isn't going to happen, we've commented on party level and gold before, it's not happening. Part of the problem is that the other players don't really care one way or another, and the other is that we have a pretty strong group. Borgan Grunt, the 11...

Touch of Healing - How does it work?

    And that's not overpowered?

Touch of Healing - How does it work?

But I am reading it right, that it is essentially free healing up to half a person's hit points?

Touch of Healing - How does it work?

Feat - Touch of Healing Benefit: As long as you have a conjuration (healing) spell of 2nd level or higher available to cast, you can spend a standard action to touch a target creature and heal 3 points of damage per level of the highest-level conjuration (healing) spell you have available to...

When you want to strangle a player

There are always many sides to things, just always remember that (which you seem to be doing, having defended the player you're having problems with) If you think about it, planned fights give warriors a chance to shine, and planned social scenes give social characters a chance to shine. The...

    Question about Shackled City (SPOILER)

So we just got back from defeating an Undead Green Dragon (forget the name) and rescuing the Mayor's wife. The DM let me know that according to the adventure, we should have hit level 14 at the end of that session. Problem is, due to many, many party deaths, re-created characters, and just plain...

    D&D 3E/3.5 The problems with 3.5?

I'm sorry, but did he follow the proper EXP penalties for this? If he didn't, no wonder, I can also make a broken character like that too.

    Stupid question...

Go Grey Elf (+2 Int, +2 Dex, -2 Con, -2 Str) and take the feat that allows you to use all racial weapons without penalty. Then use the Elven Thinblade, 1d8 dmg, 18-20 threat range, and you can use Weapon Finesse with it. EDIT: Dangit, shoulda read all of Hypersmurfs post

Could Mirage Arcana be used to cause someone to drown themselves?

I'm failing to understand the confusion arrising from the OP. His point is that you see a cave (if you insist on a will save, DM rolls it for the party without them knowing. The party enters the cave, and everything seems normal. They all take a breath, and all start choking on the water. They...

    Stupid question...

Just remember for a Swashbuckler/Rogue you'll need TWF, Martial Study - Shadow Hand, Martial Study - Shadow hand Stance, Shadowblade, and then you'll probably want Daring Outlaw as well.

Throwing your buddy with Mighty Throw [Bo9S]

Oh, I agree completely, hence the option to roll either Jump or Tumble. I figure if they can't do either of those, they're probably not coordinated/experienced enough to know how to lean, etc

Throwing your buddy with Mighty Throw [Bo9S]

I think the idea of using a trip attempt to throw someone is kinda of like a judo throw - they work best when the person is resisting, and you can guide their momentum to throw them. If im trying to judo throw someone who is just being limp and standing there, I'm not going to throw him as far...
