D&D 5E Goliaths WebDM Misses the Mark, but Sparks My Curiosity

I'm just gonna remind everyone that the video that spawned this "conversation" was trying to provide more ways to make Goliaths more interesting, especially in terms of lore, not to prove to everyone that they aren't interesting. This thread has devolved to a combination of arguments of...

D&D 5E Goliaths WebDM Misses the Mark, but Sparks My Curiosity

Exactly, but what they do need is a culture and a history. It's fine with people making up their own, but without it how do you RP Goliath as a people in an established setting such as the Forgotten Realms.

D&D 5E How To Build Playable Werewolves and Vampires

I once saw a post on Reddit that suggested using racial stats for Drow to play a Dhampir. It actually makes a lot of sense. I kinda want to do that now.

D&D 5E Goliaths WebDM Misses the Mark, but Sparks My Curiosity

Goliath seem to lack a cultural niche to me. Do they have their own empires? Do they worship their own gods, or weave strange tribal magicks? I actually found this episode very inspiring and continued to come up with ideas well after it is over. The Goliaths could be a cultural group of humans...

RPG Crowdfunding News – Ultimate Kingdoms, Rocket Age, Fantastic Adventures, Quietus, and more

I don't believe it ends by the 4th of July, so I understand it not being on this list but there is a Kickstarter for a D&D 5e setting called World of Revilo. It's cool looking and I can't help but get Dark Crystal vibes from it.

Royal Blood: Create Your Own Fantasy Titles

1st of all: I lol'd so hard at your joke. 2nd: That would be a cool idea for an article.

    D&D 5E WotC's Nathan Stewart Teases New D&D Setting Book in 2019

I'd wanna see more FR such as Kara-Tur, Thay, Mulhorand, Maztica, Al-Qadim, Zakhara, Malatra, and more. Dark Sun and Planescape would be epic. As for MtG Settings, I think Theros or Kamigawa or Tarkir would be really cool, as would more fleshed out and detailed setting guides for Innistrad...

    Epic Monsters: Nyarlathotep (5E)

Understood. I will also note that certain historical figures have legends attributed to them and some are debatable as to whether they even existed.

    Mythological Figures: Circe (5E)

I have some ideas for characters to do in Mythological Figures. Hercules Sinbad the Sailor Dorian Gray Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Peter Pan Maui Vlad Tepes King Solomon Richard the Lionheart Triton David (As in David and Goliath) Boudicca Genghis Khan Queen Tamar Beowulf John Dee Montezuma II...

Your favourite world narrative / mythology twists

in my homebrew setting, humans are descended from Elves who lost their spark of magic, orcs are descended from humans who tried (and failed) to get magic back. Humans and orcs can produce children, but humans and elves cannot. Also, Gnolls are a merchant race.

    Epic Monsters: Nyarlathotep (5E)

A bit off topic but I have some ideas for characters to do in Mythological Figures. Hercules Sinbad the Sailor Dorian Gray Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Peter Pan Maui Vlad Tepes King Solomon Richard the Lionheart Triton David (As in David and Goliath) Boudicca Genghis Khan Queen Tamar Beowulf John...

    Mythological Figures: Circe (5E)

Kobold Stew does raise some good points, but I gotta agree with Mike on this one. And at what point does wanting accuracy become nitpicking.

12 new monster images revealed from Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes!

I'm really digging the Giff and the Abashai. I'd love to see Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes include some decent Player Options like Giff, Githyanki, Githzerai, Duergar, Eladrin, and Genasi as playable races, Artificer and Mystic as Classes, and more goodies for player options (feats, spells...
