Wilderlands of High Fantasy - What do I need to start a 5e campaign?

I'm looking to get into this setting, but am not sure where to start. I'd like to have a setting book, a city book . (CSotIO?) and some adventures that are specific to the setting. Maps would help too. However, I can't wrap my head around the various printings and editions. I can't really get a...

Lost City of Barakus - How do I run this thing?

Have read a lot of praise about it for years. The setting and style attract me. I finally bought in and I hope to run it for my 5e group soon. However, going into it I knew it was a sandbox, but for me sandbox doesn't always have to mean there isn't some over arching thing the players can...

City State o/t Invincible Overlord vs Lost City of Barakus

I've been doing lots of searching trying to figure out what I want to run for my group next and I think I've narrowed it down to these two. What I'm looking for is a small setting that 1. I can easily drop anything into. 2. Has a large city as a base, where even most of the adventures could...

    AD&D Mapping

Sounds pretty cool! Although, honestly, I can't imagine running C1 any other way than having a piece of graph paper in the middle of the table with another player mapping out my descriptions :p

DMs, how the heck do you run Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk?

You are right about the empty rooms. Putting them here and there and the rolling for random treasure and encounters could be fun, I rarely used random tables. It'll add some excitement even for me. As for your quick checks, couldn't everybody just take 10's and 20's?

DMs, how the heck do you run Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk?

Good advice, thanks : ) i guess I just feel like Im supposed to be filling up the entire castle with 20+ rooms of my own design since there are so few rooms detailed in the module. It leaves entire levels blank and gives a two sentence description about each one : /

DMs, how the heck do you run Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk?

So, I am not the most experienced DM in the world, but certainly competent enough to run a published module. I've decided to run ERGH. It's a pretty awesome module and the first session went really well. Thanks to how much fluff is presented for the city of Greyhawk we had 6 hours of in town...
