OSR Dark Albion: The Rose War, an OSR campaign setting released

Thanks! Appendix 3 uses the layout of my RPG: Fantastic Heroes & Witchery, reason for which the font is smaller (i.e., 7.5-pts). So if you don't like it, better you don't buy FH&W. (It had to be small font because even like that it's already 430 pages long... and with less illustrations.)

OSR Dark Albion: The Rose War, an OSR campaign setting released

Only problem is that working alone (although the text was written by RPGPundit on this one) takes a lot of time (months) to get something released. Next project are an adventure scenario for Dark Albion (this one should be released soon), and then the Blasphemous Bestiary, a monster manual for...

I would like to announce the release of the following campaign setting: Dark Albion: The Rose War is a 275 pages long, OSR RPG campaign setting, set in a fantasy medieval England during the War of the Roses (15th century). Think England + sorcery + demons and fairies + some fantasy twists to...

OSR Dark Albion: The Rose War, an OSR campaign setting released

Well, both remain very different. For example: In Games of Throne (I have seen some of the TV show, but not read the books) magic and supernatural creatures are relatively rare, while they are more widespread in Dark Albion. Then, north of Westeros there is a great ice wall, with countless...

    ENnies 2014: dead or alive?

I went to that website. However, it seems there is little activity. The main problem is that one judge's address to send a book, is still missing. All of this keeps me wondering... before spending 250 $.

    ENnies 2014: dead or alive?

Hi, I went to the ENnies website, and submitted an online form, as I want to participate in the next ENnies. HOWEVER: I noticed that the website has not been updated since the end of 2013 (i.e. 4 or 5 months ago); and that the address of the sixth judge should have been given 5 or 6 months...

Great new retro-clone - Fantastic Heroes & Witchery (free PDF)

Temporary withdrawal of the POD (i.e. print on demand) books on Lulu. I originally did two proof-readings of the text, and then again more corrections of typos and errors. Unfortunately, still more of them are continuously reported to me by some of you who did buy the book. I am really ashamed...

Great new retro-clone - Fantastic Heroes & Witchery (free PDF)

Right now, it is V.1.2 on lulu. Unfortunately, some typos are still appearing from time to time. After having proofread the book by myself twice, I seem unable to find new typos and errors. One eventually becomes blind to his own text. Some readers keep sending me reports of typos when they find...

Great new retro-clone - Fantastic Heroes & Witchery (free PDF)

FH&W update I just uploaded version 1.2 after having fixed a few errors and a couple of typos. I also toned down the Agent of Chaos/Law class, and the Psionic Blast ability, as was requested in another thread (i.e. on RPG.net). And I removed a line about winged folks' flying maneuverability...

Great new retro-clone - Fantastic Heroes & Witchery (free PDF)

Multi-Classes in Fantastic Heroes & Witchery I always thought that multi-classed characters (as in 1e/2e) were somewhat broken. Compare for example an 8th level fighter, or a 8th level wizard to a multi-class fighter/wizard. Well, for almost the same number of XP the character will be but one...

Great new retro-clone - Fantastic Heroes & Witchery (free PDF)

Hey, I didn't know that someone had started a thread about Fantastic Heroes & Witchery. I wanted to first put the website online before making any announcement here. The website is not complete, but the download section is in place! (click below) In any case, thanks for all your kind...

Name ONE favourite thing about your favourite edition

+1 When 3e came, these were my preferred rules (over the predecessors): the multiclassing, and the customization with feats. You could really have a character evolve as you wished, not being restricted by predetermined abilities once and for all.

What style of science-fiction in your D&D ?

Mmmmh... That sounds like a good suggestion.

What style of science-fiction in your D&D ?

Well, it appears I did not ask my question very well. I am asking about the visual style players prefer when it comes to add sci-fi in a D&D game. Aspects of the technology, not what it does. As such, in the David Lynch movie, there is a lot of things that have a visual style similar to that of...
