If I had my way, it would be an anthology series of 8-12 30-90 minute stories by entirely different creative teams. Because, if you think about it, that's what D&D looks like.A season based around the orange cover version of Palace of the Silver Princess would be perfect for David Zaslav.

I've thought about exaxtly that. If I had infinite authority and resources, I would have them make a cartoon in the vein of those old Jason Thompson Adventure maps, one madcap episode per crazed dungeon:If I had my way, it would be an anthology series of 8-12 30-90 minute stories by entirely different creative teams. You know.. I hadn't thought of this, but I get where you're coming from. I think it really depends on the overall vibe though. If it's attempting to be a serious action/drama show along the lines of Game of Thrones, or Wheel of Time.. I feel like cutaways to the "Players" behind the characters would undermine the attitude of the show. Whenever I imagine a potential D&D show I always assume it's going to be a drama set in a D&D setting.. Most likely the Forgotten Realms. Perhaps a dramatization of the Drizzt story, or now with the popularity of BG3, I could see a continuation/prequel of that story.A D&D show/movie needs to be like Neverending Story. Where it switches back and forth between players and their characters. Otherwise it’s just people with swords and fake accents.*
*just one man’s opinion. I do not have sources and I don’t hate 4e.
I think for the brand to get past just being for "basement dwelling dorks" it has to be humanized. Breakfast club meets neverending story meets Goonies. Some kind of drama/comedy where we see not just a bunch of dorks, but a a group of normal people making decisions for their PCs based on real life drivers. Not to sound too much like an afterschool special but all kinds of real world problems could be introduced and we see how that affects game play and scheduling and character building. If anyone knows anyone have them reach out to me.You know.. I hadn't thought of this, but I get where you're coming from. I think it really depends on the overall vibe though. With that said, I hadn't considered maybe a lower stakes, less dramatic show. Maybe not full blown comedy but something akin to The Princess Bride. Light hearted, but heart felt. Cut back and forth between the party in-universe, and then their players at the table. Make it episodic in nature, and every few episodes you could have different Dungeon Masters, which could change the whole tone of the show.
I think this actually has a lot of promise. There could be two major plot lines running. The Real-Life plot, and the In-Game plot. Maybe focus it around teenagers. Issues at home or school present in character.. This could really be something.. Probably something that a lot of people adore, and it gets abruptly canceled after two seasons anyway.
