Back in 1982, I believe it was, we used to have a Philips P2000, with a massive 16K cartridge. It took those miniature cassettes as well, if you wanted to save anything.

I remember my father, who worked at one of the top science labs in Europe, telling me that they had a 4Gb computer. That 4Gb was stored on a room full of disks.

Just as a sign of how old I am...

When I was in college, the office where I had my work-study job had a dozen of those Compaq "luggables". I spent one summer ('85, I think) schlepping those dozen luggables back and forth from Madison to various other campuses in the University of Wisconsin system, for use in seminars. All I can say is, it was good for bulking up my arm muscles.
