1000 Games!

Our weekly gaming group will be having our 1000th game this evening. And of the five playing characters in the current module two were founding characters from our first game way back in May 1982!

Wondering if there are any other groups out there with that level of longeviity?

Is that all one "campaign" or several?

Primarily one campaign, we have done a series of short modules totalling 60 games with a different campaign, but the rest has all been a continuation of the module we began back in 1982. We're now on our 138th module during which a little more than 15 years of character time has gone by.

I joined one of the groups I play with in 1982; that group had been going for 2 or 3 years before I joined.

We, too, have some characters still going from that time, though we play a variety of games and campaigns, and so it hasn't been just those PCs, straight through.

Additionally, we're kind of split up geographically now, and so we don't get together as often as we used to (1/week through most of the 80s), so we probably aren't anywhere near 1000 game sessions yet -- we're probably more in the 500 or 600 range.
