14 Inches of Snow & 1 Inch of Ice

Really

That's all I got to say.

No plow has gone through yet, and we're not going anywhere.

At least I had enough heads up to tell my boss (He was betting on 3 inches, max) that I wouldn't be in if we had over 12 Inches, and I got everything done that needed to be done by the end of the week yesterday.

Right now, I have about (Lets see 10' wide by 30' long by 4' high; love snow drifts); 1,200 Cubic feet of snow blocking me from even GETTING to a street that hasn't been plowed. I figure I've got several metric tons of snow preventing me from going anywhere today. (Plus an Inch of Ice beneath all of that).

At least we have power (and Internet).

Actually, I couldn't have gotten into work if I'd wanted this morning as I-70 was shut down to all but emergency vehicles.

To others in the Blizzard of 06 in the Midwest...

BE CAREFUL!!

Unless you absolutely have to travel with no other options, stay inside.

It was 70 degrees here yesterday.
It was in the 80s here two days ago. It froze last night (50 degree difference in less than 48 hours?!)

Temp dropped 14 degrees since I got up at 4am this morning. The site I got the temp from earlier hadn't been updated.

First day of December and it's in the 70s and rainy in the Big Apple. Weirdness.

To those of you with snow and ice: drive safely!
