damn you're good.

BTW, what set off the Ragu-party animocity, anyway?

Oh - right

In my glory metal induced frenzy, I almost forgot why I was here...
:)

Anyways - it all started back when the party wiped out a war band of goblins around 7th level. They had heard stories of a goblin champion who was serving as a scout and rogue hero for the band, but they never actually met him.

Less than half an hour after the party slaughtered the band, Ragu returned from a scouting mission to find his entire warband dead. Since he had been their champion, he felt a rare twinge of guilt for not having been there to protect them in their hour of need. Swearing vengeance, he set off to track the party and kill them in revenge.

Anyways, from there it just kept growing and growing... and the whole while, the party has no idea any of this is going on. They and Ragu just somehow never seemed to actually catch each other... it really started to get ridiculous after a while. But the party almost NEVER backtracked - they always found some way to exit a dungeon other than the way they entered, for example. So Ragu was often right on their heels, but never quite caught up.

Very wierd - I felt like I was on the inside of a joke that literally no one else knew about...

I got an Idea on what to do with the party. The Divine Emissary of the God(dess) of Life in your campaign world stumbles across the fallen party.

A white light engulfs the party and they regain conciousness, looking around and seeing that they are devoid of all equipment.and that there is a figure standing in the middle of the road, backlit by moonlight so that they cannot see his/her features. Cue music.

From the darkness, I walk into the light.
From the day, I walk into the night.
From the shadows, I will appear, with a message for all who will hear.

For the weak of heart, I will be strong.
For the defenders of faith, I will belong.
To the last of us fight till we die.
Till the kings of the kingdom are nigh.

Use that ingenuity of yours to see where I plan this to go...

You know, as much as I love this idea, (and believe me, I do!) my players would never go for it.... they're wimps and posers... :D

Besides, that idea, sadly, wouldn't intermesh well with a number of plot elements that are already well entrenched in the campaign. You can rest assured that my players would call me on that, too - even if I did just resurrect them all.

Maybe if I resurrected them without draining a level...
