18th Century D20 Imperial Britain and its Colonies - a new setting?

Was watching "A History of Britain" last night and they were covering the Colonial Period in both America (Ruddy taxes and the Boston Tea Party et al) and then the East India Companys reign in India (and its Company = Government system)

Anyway while watching all I could think was wow what a cool setting that would be! (PCs as Bachelor-Clerks and Company 'extortionist' leading small armies against the might of the Moghuls and the dark power of the Thugees!)

Anyway I know Septentrionalis sortof covers the American colony has anyone got RPG info on 17th century India and the colonial period in general?

and do any companies plan on doing 17th Century D20?

Y'know, the 18th century (in Europe or the Americas, at least) is one of the few historical eras not already plumbed for gaming material. 17th C? sure -- musketeers galore. Prior to that, you have Renaissance, Medieval, "Dark Ages", and Ancient gaming of all stripes; the 19th century has been covered by Castle Falkenstein, Space: 1889, and other "steampunk" kinds of settings. And then there are obviously "modern times" (1920 forward), all well covered

But the 1700s? Only really for Japan (although most people think they are playing in an earlier era). Something about smoothbore flintlock muskets, smallswords, powdered wigs and the like that have never really caught on in gaming. A few brief attempts, but nothing ever stuck...

Skull & Bones, which we here at Adamant Entertainment designed for publication by Green Ronin, is set at the turn of the 17th to 18th century.

Plus, the official announcement and promo web page aren't ready yet, but Adamant will be releasing a D20-Modern-based RPG in the 4th Quarter of 2004 called "GLORIANA: Dark Elizabethan Fantasy", which mixes Elizabethan England, Faerie, and the Cthulhu mythos. It's based on/expanded from Cam Bank's "Elizabethulhu" pdf that's floating around out there online.

That IS the era covered under Septentrionalis, and that product will out very soon. I played a game at last year's ENWorld Boston Gameday with the author and the it was apparently almost ready for publication when Edition 3.5 came out and the publisher wanted it revamped for the latest version. The game I played was great, and I'd highly recommend it.

Thanks for the link. Gloriana sounds *very* interesting to me, I will be keeping an eye out for information on that one.
