I have a peripherally-related question... In Unearthed Arcana (or is it AU? The WOTC one, not the Monte one) there is a variant Necromancer option to begin play with a skeleton servant instead of a familiar. It does reference the increasing HD just like a regular familiar animal, but is silent on other familiar abilities (like share spells, link, etc.). Should those advancement abilities apply to the skeleton servant?
