1st/2nd Ed Multiple Attacks

I don't visit these parts too often, but grodog asked me to stop by. You can download A.D.D.I.C.T. here. You may find it helpful in parsing the 1E combat rules. The short answer to the OP's question is no, you cannot move and make melee attacks in the same round unless charging. The books are silent on the subject of mutiple attacks, but it seems implicit to me that only a single attack routine is permitted at the end of a charge.

Thanks for clarifying, David: that was my read based on the quotations I pulled from the DMG.

Thanks guys, though in 2nd Ed it says you may move half your movement and make an attack (not charging).

So in 1st Ed you can only move and attack if you charge.

Which system, of all versions of D&D (from BECMI to 4th Ed), do people like the most?
