A big positive for Stunning Fist is it does work on very tough grunt monsters that you wouldn't dare grapple -- you just need to get lucky. You have ~10% chance per round of successfully getting a stun against, say, a Frost Giant.

I would say that any monster you have a < 10% chance of Stunning is the sort of monster you shouldn't be fighting with a delicate fragile Monk. Things like Frost Giants particularly. ;-)

Then it's time for the WUSS attack. Hide behind the wizard, move 666ft to your enemy, try to stun him and run back to hide.

I think that's been my plan from the start, or at least hide behind all the other melee party members. Having a 4th level monk-mage makes him pretty weak, although he is self-sufficient enough to have mage armor to get the highest AC in the party. And high AC is certainly a plus with the lower HP. I think he will be more of a machine once he starts to hit the mid and higher levels.
