They don't need to prey, I believe it just happens I think. I'd guess paladin and Cleric spells would be under the same prayer though.Aust Diamondew said:Sorcerers only need to meditate 15 minutes per day to regenerate their spells, same with warmages probably.
Clerics, Paladins and druids must pray for 1 hour at one specific time per day (usually midnight or day break) to regenerate their spells. I'd think favored souls would do it the same way.
Consider hiring henchmen or getting a gaurd dog. I'd be more concerned about keeping watch while sleeping than when preparing spells. The paladin is going to take a lot of time though to prepare.
If your GM hasn't fixed/banned Divine Metamagic, I feel sorry for him. Clerics get turn at Level 1, and in gestalt, you don't stack the turning attempts, so the Paladin's turning ability is a wash.Question said:We are all at level 1, so options are limited. The paladin wont have spells yet. I intend to take him to level 4 just for turn undead(cough divine metamagic cough), and he will have 1 level 1 paladin spell.

SRD said:Instead, the character chooses a particular part of the day to pray and receive spells. The time is usually associated with some daily event. If some event prevents a character from praying at the proper time, he must do so as soon as possible. If the character does not stop to pray for spells at the first opportunity, he must wait until the next day to prepare spells.
A divine spellcaster selects and prepares spells ahead of time through prayer and meditation at a particular time of day. The time required to prepare spells is the same as it is for a wizard (1 hour), as is the requirement for a relatively peaceful environment.
