I really wonder how many people have seen FC2, and are judging it on FC1. (I know I haven't got FC2 yet...)

Like not having something has prevented people from voting for something in earlier rounds. (Casts a stare at whoever it was in earlier rounds who voted for FCs for being "just a creature book")

Cheers!
I've been voting FCI for several rounds now, but have not at any point planned to vote for FCII. FCII is a vastly better book (at least for the stuff I want in a book)

The same thing happened in the Core Religion Survivor; Hextor and Heironeous, who were not liked by that many people, ended up #1 and #2 because the vote was split on people's dislike.

[nitpick]#2 and #3, as I recall. I'm near positive Wee Jas ended up winning that game.

But, yeah, I agree with the sentiment. I'm split between the two myself (though I prefer PHB II to both), but it's that indecision that's going to end up killing the PHB. :(

Finally, I can vote for the PHBII! I like the book. I've used the book more than anything else of 2006, but I don't think it's the best book of the year. Much of it is off-balanced and wonky.

I prefer FCII: Tyrants of the Nine Hells to FCI: Hordes of the Abyss, actually. Both are great books, but there's something about the adventure hooks and the playabilty factor of Baator in FCII that puts it over the top for me. I've never cared much for the planes because I can rarely think of ways to make certain regions survivable or interesting. Baator was never a place I ever considered sending a party before I read FCII.

All three are good books (okay, I've only browsed FC2, but I'll be buying it). PHB2 gets the axe just because I really, really like complex fiends as foes.
