And I think the poll option you're looking for is "All Mangled And Killed". ;)

I guess the answer to that would be both. There's nothing in either book that I particularily like (it's all blah to me) or be interested in enough to pay money to have a copy.

"Oh look, neat location with game mechanics that allow you to rewrite your character!" Whee. Maybe I'd have been more impressed if I hadn't already played that adventure in a 1st edition campaign five years ago. Or maybe that's in the DMG 2, I forget.

I feel that just the basic core rules, a couple of the monster books, and the first four "Complete" books are more than enough to fill out a campaign that can run for a decade or so. I'm also of the firm belief that WotC has forgotten the purpose of a prestige class, since so many of them are starting to resemble previously described prestige classes.
