While I love that The Soulpatch is back...I am still a little disappointed that Chloe is not back....yet.

Spoiler tagged for those who want to keep the suspense:
TVGuide.com had an interview with Mary Lynn Rajskub (who plays Chloe). Before she got the job on 24, she committed to doing Kelsey Grammer's new show whenever he got it going. Well, that turns out to be about 3 episodes into this season of 24. She did say there's a chance she may return near the end of the season though.

Great season so far; can't seem to work up any compassion for the evil terrorist family though Beruz (sp?) is the closest to being someone you can care for. Can't wait to see them get popped by the good guys...

There is something terribly wrong with this, the fact that you think you should feel compassion for the evil terrorists. Behrooz (that's official) is at least showing some redeeming characteristics, but the parents are true rat bastards.

Remember, you not supposed to like every character or feel compassion for them. This applies to all entertainment.

I haven't gotten that any of this is personal against Jack. I grant some of the past seasons the baddies have had it in for Jack personally. The middle eastern terrorists want to melt down several US nuclear power plants and Jack is in the way. This past episode was about Audrey (the love interest and the Secretary of Defense's daughter) looking at tape and trying to id someone she saw at the compound. Someone was trying to kill her to prevent the id.

But they seemed to know beforehand that Jack and Audrey would be going there, which leads one to suspect something more is going on in that respect.

I was simply approaching th episode from the usual tree-hugging politically correct sort of mentality that TV usually portrays. Believe me, I don't even think that someone should have compassion for scum like that and am quite glad that the producers of the show didn't cow to pressure to make their outlook anything but the destructive one thus portrayed. I'm a card-carrying member of the Radical Right and carried a rifle in the desert during the first Iraq conflict.

I will say that I was glad that Behrooz (thanks, BTW - knew how to pronounce it but not spell it!) is redeemable and I can't help but shake my head at his mom's hypocrisy (It's okay to take out other kids but not hers!) How long till she dies I wonder?

The hit squad was sent there to eliminate the person who could id the man first seen by Audrey at the terrorist compound. That Jack happened to be there I think was irrelevent.

The past couple episodes are giving me new hope in this season. Frankly, the first couple episodes were really pretty bad. The Muslim family isn't very believable.

The new head of CTU hating Jack isn't believable. It seems like they're getting stuck in formula with that -- Jack *has* to be the loner outsider. Umm, sorry, guys, it doesn't work any more! It's just not believalbe after FOUR seasons.

Oh, and the insane daughter is a stupid ad-on. Gah! Who cares? She's unimportant! Get rid of her already!

That said, the developments of this and the past couple episodes are mostly good. The Muslim family is becoming vaguely believable. Tony is cool. The preview for him next week looks really cool. I think I'll like this season after all. :)

They knew before hand because the inside beeatch tipped them off.

you don't know how many times I said this about Kim in the first three seasons!

No more times than me and my wife said it! :) I keep hoping and praying we won't see her this season, while still having the sinking feeling she's going to show up, anyway. :\

Except Jack and Audrey were named.

Most likely, I just remember getting the impression they expected it, but haven't bothered to rewatch the episode to see if it's clear.

The boring rip off of the former President's wife (her character better get more interesting!) has been tipping the bad guys off. This was the first time she did it on camera. The bad guys would *have* to know about Jack by reputation by now -- he hasn't exactly been anonymous in the 24 universe. The specific bad guy they're looking for knows Audrey recognized him. Once the Boring Evil Black Woman tipped the bad guys off, the bad guy response happened and was quite appropriate. Other than the BEBW, that scene was one of the best they've had so far. Made the most sense, too, other than how quick Almeda got there...
