I was kind of surprised when CTU put a call through to Driscoll while she and the SoD were on the phone with the President.

I also loved it when Curtis started beating the crap out of his captors! It made me think of how much I love the movie Die Hard. In the span of one episode, Curtis became a great action hero.

I felt kinda bad when Driscoll's daughter killed herself... but skeptical at the same time. This girl with massive psychological problems, sitting in the middle of a massively important govt. agency, went unwatched?? I find it hard to believe she wasn't being monitored every second.

The doctor in charge said that he wasn't able to handle her and that she belonged in a psych ward. I'm pretty sure this will lead to Driscoll's downfall. Good riddance, I say. I'm all for strong female characters, but Driscoll is just obnoxious. Besides, we all wanted to see the soul-patch man on top again. I still think he'll be dead by the end of the season, but oh well.

Agreed. They left that kind of vague, so maybe she did it right in front of everyone.

Does anyone else think this govt. conspiracy will lead back to the president? I could see using a major terrorist victory like the meltdown of a nuclear power plant or the destruction of some other major national monument(s) as a way of securing political power for oneself.

I'm sure of it, and I'm sure that's why they have a new president this year. I'm also betting we haven't seen the end of Palmer and that the story of him not being president now will be an integral part of the further plot of this season.

At least it better be! If they leave that as a loose end, I'm flying to LA to kick some asses.

Yeah, that is the only really, truly unbelievable part of the series. Since Denver traffic is consistantly rated almost as bad, I really laugh at those parts.

It's not a loose end- after the events of last season, Palmer dropped out of the re-election process.

Ok, but here's my question: where do they go from here. It seems to me like this season should be called "12", and just end now. Will they really spend the next 12 hours chasing down this season's Dr. Evil, or is there another layer of horribleness to keep us tuned in for the rest of the season?

You mean other than the BIG bomb shown in the previews (at least I think it was a big bomb), plus there is all the stuff about how the terrorists knew so much. I'm hoping Heller's son will come back so he can get what's coming to him.
