I liked the feel of this episode, even though events leading up to this situation were a little cheesy.

I liked the inclusion of the Americans of Arabic descent. It was gratuitous but necessary I think.

Michelle getting rid of Sarah was cool. I expected some sort of clash with Sarah, but I didn't expect Dessler to just bounce her!

I think Paul should have just died in the field.

I liked the episode too. As for the cheesy lead-up, didn't somebody say something right at the beginning like, "why would they do that; it just proves their guilty!"? It made me wonder if there wasn't more to hide, perhaps something that the CEO didn't know about, but that the security guys were covering up.

You know, the chief mercenary dude seemed like a real badass. I was hoping he'd stick around for a while, though the knife in the skull was pretty grim.

I was explaining to my wife during her brief appearance during the show what the story was with Sarah. I was also a bit surprised that Michelle just kick her out. She may have been a climber, but they had only just tortured her!

Speaking of torture, do you suppose the show will ever remember that they left the SecDef's son in a sensory disorientation helmet several hours ago? I would have thought at the very least the death of Driscoll's daughter might have caused the SecDef to say, "Hm. Don't I also have a relative here under duress? I wonder how he's doing?" I think the show just forgot about him, which is quite a lapse.

I have to admit, I've been thinking bad thoughts about Paul for several hours (get your mind out of the gutter! Not THOSE kind of bad thoughts!). I fully expected him to turn on Jack and wind up being yet another bad guy plant in CTU. I'm glad I was wrong. I'll lay odds that Paul ends up back with his wife by the end of the day, and Jack ends up all ... all ... alone.

Footnote: Given the casual way with which the SecDef ordered the torture of his own son, I think I can see where their history of mutual antipathy comes from

Here we go. From the 24 website episode guide:

"1:31 P.M.
Heller learns that Richard did not reveal anything after the sensory deprivation technique. Richard tells his father that he hates him now. He is released."

Jack Bauer sez: "Torture is OKAY, as long as it's part of your JOB!"

Everything was just...on point. Sara should have waited, but who can blame her. She was tortured by her own job, her own job. How many people here has gone through that *DON'T answer that*.

Paul, I like...the man has gone through much, and deserve something decent in return. Jack was just vicious as usual in the sports store. That merc was done up Splinter Cell Style...even I was, like...yo! That was rough:eek:

He's a good guy, I just thought the drama would be more intense (and not drawn out) between Jack and Audrey had he just died.
