First Post
Looks like Chapelle is really dead, and he didn't have a tracking device on him like I predicted for the last episode. The virus is loose in the city because the adulterer went around bleeding on everyone in sight, and Kim went on a little adventure and got to shoot one of Saunder's henchmen because they were observing the wrong guy. On the bright side, Jack managed to nab Saunder's daughter, and from the preview for next weeks episode, it looks like he is going to use the girl as a bargaining chip.

All in all, it was a pretty good episode. Too bad we have to wait a whole week to find out what happens next.

By the way, when Kim was walking through the library alone, was anybody else half-expecting a mountain lion to attack her? ;)

Yeah! And then Loni would spring forth and rescue her! I'm still hoping it all ties into Loni somehow...

;)

It was a pretty good episode. They seem to just be ramping up and up instead of tying up loose ends. I hope we get at least a little closure at the end of this year.

I hated how magically convenient that whole nabbing Kim scene was.

I love Kim finally fighting back and shooting the guy. NOW she's part of CTU, in my opinion.

And Michelle continues to be one of the best parts of this show.

I'm so waiting for Adam or Chloe to pull a double-cross... Saunders seems to know way too much for him to not having someone on the inside.

Overall though, I liked this episode, and hope it keeps up steam.

Yeah, ignoring the flip flopping presidential decisions, the last couple eps have been more exciting than those about Sherry-gate, though I believe that particular story isn't quite dead yet.

Jack should have shot and kill all the guys in black who jumped out of the van, maybe let one go to bring Chapelle's body back. Nobody said Jack had to let the Men in Black get out alive, did they?

Good episode. Even Kim was not too annoying. It really is scarey to think about how quickly and widely such a virus could spread.

How diabolical do you think Saunders is? My prediction is that he never really intended the virus to get out like that. I think he expected CTU to do its job, and that he might be horrified to discover how widely it might spread. I foresee an ironic comeuppance at the end, where Saunders is infected with his own virus.

I can't say I feel bad for Capt. Adultery, but it did make me feel bad to see him wandering around so cluelessly complaining about his bloody nose.

Can't point to my favorite moment in the episode, but I liked the president's line: "I am aware of the moral ambiguity of my actions." Yeah, we all are. Would we have done differently?

Yeah well... it wouldn't have demonstrated CTU's best cooperative demeanor either...

KIM- C.T.U. ? hold... Dad, it's Saunders !

JACK- I'll take it here (points at other desk)

*trrrut* *trrrut* *TII-trrrut*

JACK- (icy cold voice) Yes.

SAUNDERS- Hello Jack. I just received Chapelle's body. I want to congratulate you on that. It must have been difficult for you.

JACK- You son of a bitch.

SAUNDERS- Now now Jack, no need for profanity. There's one little thing though... I didn't appreciate you killing 3 of my subordinates. There will be a consequence for that.

JACK- Well, technically speaking you never told me NOT to shoot at them.

SAUNDERS- What ? ? ?

JACK- Nope. Never. You have to be specific when you're a terrorist. You never told me not to shoot at them.

SAUNDERS- Who is this ?

JACK- Neener neener neener. Your pants are on fire.

SAUNDERS- That does it. I'm releasing the vial in Boston. Neener THAT you moron.

JACK- Neen... oh.. no... no WAIT ! I'm sorry. I'M SORRY !

SAUNDERS- It's too late Jack.

*trrrut* *trrrut* *TII-trrrut*

KIM- Dad, it's president Palmer on line 6, he says there's been an outbreak in Boston.

SAUNDERS- Good bye Jack.

See what I mean ? ;)

Saunders has his daughter around for a reason. Maybe she carries the cure? There is something more with her. Chapelle died for nothing from the way this episode played out, even for Saunders. He wanted Chapelle dead to keep the daughter hidden and not even ten minutes after he died they still found her. What is the point of testing everyone in the hotel if all of them become symptomatic hours before they get their results? All that to build up the suspense with Michelle?

Sarigar, I have learned with 24 to not think too much. That show has so many plot holes it's not funny.

BTW, two days after the final episode last year I met Sutherland. I shook his hand and told him "I really like your show. Too bad you didn't die." to which he replied laughing "Yeah well we'll try better next time."

:) You can say that again.

When I watch that show, I do it slouched back with my eyes half-closed, slack-jawed, and tongue hanging out of my head. 24 is the new poster-child for the phrase "mindless entertainment".

Yeah, I've watched the show from the beginning and it does have a few holes. Every plot I've tried to predict goes an unexpected way. Even after all of that it is the only hour of TV that I will not miss. Other shows that I watch I don't mind if I miss episodes every now and again.
As far as mindless entertainment goes I would classify almost every sitcom in that category. 24 is mindless in a sense, but it makes you think, wonder, and empathize. That's good TV.
