[3.5] A gathering of Feat

We should make a list to identify which suppliments the new feats come from. I'll start, although I can only name a few since I don't possess many of the suppliments...

Eschew Materials: Magic of Faerun.
Improved Counterspell: FRCS
Improved Grapple: I believe this one was in Oriental Adventures. Not sure though.
Manyshot: Epic-level Handbook.
Greater Spell Focus: FRCS
Greater Spell Penetration: FRCS
Stealthy: FRCS
Two-Weapon Defense: This feat sounds like it could be a renamed (and slightly altered to include weapons other than swords and daggers) version of Twin-Sword Style. If true, then it comes from (yep, you guessed it...) the FRCS.

No. Prerequisite Endurance. That probably will let you and swim for a very long time before tiring. Or maybe reduce penalties for being fatigued.

Hmmm. wondering why Eschew Materials is no longer a metamagic feat...it made logical sense for it to be one, since Still Spell and Silent Spell are.

I've ranted about it a lot of time. It's a +0 feat, and there is no way in hell preparing a spell with it is going to be troublesome (like, for example, needing to use a bigger spell slot like Still Spell, or changing an evocation spell to an inappropriate energy like a sonic substituted fireball against trolls or white dragons).

In other words, wizards paid only for the feat. For them, it behaved like Augment Summoning: affect all spells of the proper type, freely. But for sorcerers and bards, it wasn't worth it, since they paid each time they used it. And they don't even get bonus feats to acquire it. In other words, shaft and re-shaft. Making it a general feat, like Augment Summoning (which is there too), makes it as valuable to the Shafted Spellcasters (bards and sorcerers) as to the Less Shafted Spellcaster (Wizard) and the Absolutely Not Shafted Spellcasters (Clerics and Druids).

A minor annoyance:

I would have liked they create a Combat category for all the combat feats like Weapon Proficiency/Focus/Specialization, Combat Reflexes, Dodge, etc. And then, Fighters would simply get bonus combat feats, just like wizards get bonus metamagic or item creation feats.

If the above is the case, it produces the slightly amusing but not terribly serious side effect that no wizards or sorcerers have an affinity for magic (why would they take it when they can already do better).

I Seriously doubt it...

I would guess Survival/Heal, but I could be wrong. Could be Intuit Direction too...

From what I've "heard", Intuit Direction is no more, having been rolled into Survival.

Much as I like the variety it offers with extra +2/+2 options, I wonder why they bother. Why not just allow a general skill boost feat where you pick the two you want? It's all well and good having X new feats, but when they boil down to the same thing it all seems a bit silly.
