D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Alter Self

Hey, let's not forget - Share Spells lets you cast Alter Self on your familiar, or if you're multiclassed, your Mount.

Paladin's Mount is a Large Magical Beast. There must be some nifty Magical Beasts out there...

(Shame there won't be many Huge ones coming in under 5HD )

Probably easier to pick up a level of Druid than 5 levels of Pally...

Hippogriff and Pegasus both come in under the HD cap. . . .

Except I understand there's debate as to whether Animal Companions being Magical Beasts is accurate...

Beside that, most of the companions you can have as a 1st level druid don't have more than 2 hd. I don't know if the targets HD is a limit, or just the casters, but it could keep the trick outside of useful for multiclassed druids.
