D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Call lightning, Chime of interrupt, and concentration

Mystery Man

First Post
Last night,

One player uses chime of interruption causing anyone using V to make concentration check to cast spell.

Druid casts call lightning after passing concentration. Now since the chime is doing its chime thing and the CL spell states that you must concentrate to summon a bolt was I correct in making the druid do a concentration check for each one?

By sheer technicality, no. Call Lightning states that it simply requires concentrating on the spell to evoke more bolts. Therefore the Vocal component is done and over with. However, as DM you could rule that to call another bolt requires a vocal component as well (you are "calling" it after all), and therefore the Chime would effect it.

No, after looking at it you're right I think.

Bad call on my part.
