Ramifications of 3.5 Wildshape / Polymorph

Well... Just looking at the 3.5 info posted by the people with the book and comparing it to what Wizards put out as the 3.5 Druid:

Either Polymorph can only be used to assume one shape per casting (under 3.0 you can switch shapes for the duration of the spell as an action)

OR the Druid can switch between animal shapes for the duration of his wild shape, but it ends when he returns to his own form (as the info on the wizards board says 'as polymorph, except as noted' and *not* being able to switch shapes for the duration is not noted).

OR there is more to the Wildshape write-up than published by Wizards.

I'm praying for an added note that allows Druids access to the Ex abilities of animals (beyond the combat ones, as listed in the 3.5 RoytheOdd thread), for if not, then the Druid can no longer track by scent in the form of a Wolf, or see well in the dark with the low light vision of an Owl...

You're working with an old version of Polymorph Self[\i] it has been changed twice, it only allows a single shape.
