3.5 rumors from montecook.com

—Creature subtypes (fire, cold, water, air, earth) now take a –10 penalty to save against their opposed element

I doubt this one, since as of the Fiend Folio elemental subtypes have changed to taking an extra 50% damage from their elemental weakness reguardless of whether they save or not. I don't see any reason for them to change how subtypes work twice in a 4 month period.

And now for something completely different and permanent

... from Savage Species p.60, end of the first column:

[Permanent] Spells cast on other creatures, objects or locations (not on your) are subject to dispel magic as normal.

Boldface is mine.

Does this mean there are changes to how permanancy works? I always thought it was to easy too dispel. Also, all the spells in Savage Species that one can make permanent one can first make permanent when he is a wizard or sorcerer eight levels higher than when a wizard can first cast the spell (spell level x 2 - 1), not eight levels higher than the spell level itself. (i.e., a wizard can make air breathing, a 3rd-level spell, permanent at 13th level, rather than 11th level, as with tongues)

Hmmm .... that's weird. Savage Species makes a point of explaining how the elemental subtypes work in 3.5, and it's the -10 to saves method described. But you're right, Fiend Folio shows yet again another method.

They are evil! Evilevilevile!

The actual revision will feature yet another mechanism! I'm sure! It's just to annoy me because I used it for a monster I designed, and they keep making it obsolete!

Is there an X-file paranoid smiley ?

You might as well post the full stats of the weapon here. I'm sure everyone would like to see it.
