D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Stunned characters drop what they are holding!

Cedric

First Post
Straight from the 3.5 SRD...

Stunned: A stunned creature drops everything held, can't take actions, takes a -2 penalty to AC, and loses his Dexterity bonus to AC (if any).

Get your stunning fist warmed up, cause it's butt whipping time!!

p.s. Sorry if everyone but me knew this, but I just found it so amazing I had to post...

That's not a change; that's how it was in 3.0 as well.

Player's Handbook, page 282:
stunned: A stunned creature can't take actions and loses any positive Dexterity modifier to AC. Each attacker gains a +2 bonus to attack rolls against that creature. In addition, stunned characters immediately drop anything they are holding.

I am glad that issue was cleared up in 3.5. The only place I remember the 3.0 rules saying that a stunned character dropped what they were holding was in the Player's Handbook Glossary (which I believe was not included in the SRD). They seemed to forget that part of being stunned every where else they talked about stunning in 3.0.

Right. At some other places was something about 50% chance to drop anything (dazed?). The psi handbook had that rule too.
