Steeliest of the dragons
A thought came from mlund's "3 fighters" party playtest report...[EDIT] which was a great report showing/playing three different kinds of fighters, from 3 different races with 3 different "specialties" <rolls eyes. Really?! "Themes" was too hard/confusing? It has to be Specialties now? But I digress...>. It was very cool to read how the different fighters all played differently, using their mechanics and being...well...different AND effective while all still be fighters. [/EDIT]
I am very curious to hear if anyone has run an all arcane party, now that we have all three "arcane caster" classes in the mix. Heck, throw a cleric in there too just to see how/if that magic is going to play differently as well. No, it's not exactly the same, but as I said, this was a thought born from that playtest. If anyone wants to have a party with 3 different wizards or sorcerers or whatever, that'd be cool to read too. But I'm more interested, at the moment, for a comparison of a Wizard v. Sorcerer v. Warlock all together.
So, if anyone does/has done a "Wizard [still hoping for "Mage" to be the 5e term], Warlock and Sorcerer" (with or without the cleric) playtest, please share with the class.
Is there some balance or is the sorcerer running away with the show? Is there a definite difference in flavor (from the varying mechanics) while playing? Does the warlock rock doing all the wizard's stuff better? Does the wizard outcast the sorcerer with better stuff despite the lack of weapons or armor?
Twitchy spell-casters' ears want to know.
