D&D 5E #30 in Books?!?! The PHB is STILL rocking

For quite some time, it was complaints about not having enough small modules. That seems to have died down, particularly with things like DM's Guild pumping out hundreds of modules for 5e. Then we have the "5e doesn't have enough player supplements", which also seems to have died down in the face of Xanathar's and a couple of other books.

Folks do seem to have finally accepted that 5e is going to hold onto the 3-5 books per year thing.

I was one of those who kept calling for small modules. Those have just as much historical precedent as any class or subclass. But I’m not holding my breath. For reasons you listed. It is what it is. I don’t think the game has ever been perfect for anyone. We all have things we like and don’t like.

I accept nothing of your sort, its a choice, not written in stone.

the 5e PHB, a five year old book, is sitting at #30 on Amazon.
See?!?!? This is Proof! Proof positive that WotC needs to listen to me. Their business model is not working, they must release 10 books a year. They must release 3 player supplements that include new classes, races and magic items. They must release a spell compendium. They must release 2 setting cooks each year. They must give me what I want or 5E will die!!!

(note, blue text is sarcasm...)

I just bought the 3 follow on modules for IceSpire (SLW, SDW, & DC), those are all small modules. Also, TfYP was a collection of small modules. So, it seems they kind of have done this for you :)

Note however that Paizo's approach was once the slow approach. In time this might be seen as to much as well. I think that WotC is well aware however.

I am more interested in the quality than quantity. Although my dream of redoing the setting looks like it will never happen. Maybe DM’s guild is a possibility. There are very good fans who know these settings as well as the current staff

Paizo needs subscriptions for thier APs, that has always been how they do things. They throw all of the rules up for free, and sell adventures.

I was talking about their hardcover releases. I’m not faulting them, I’ve lauded them when they announced a slower approach. That approach seemed to work well for them. But as I look about I see talk as if it’s too fast and I wanted to remind folks that it WAS THE slow approach at one point.
