I've finally hit 3rd level. 
Since the fabulous trend, started by our own William Ronald, seems to be to post what you are most thankful for here on EN World once you hit a certain level, I shall continue it.
I love this place! I've been on here since January of 2002. Since that time I've seen it grow from a messageboard almost exclusively about 3rd edition D&D to an all-inclusive haven of roleplayers, sci-fi geeks, computer geeks, play-by-posters, and certified whackos.
I think some people come to this board, see a few odd topics here and there, but never delve very much below the surface. Underneath are friendships made for life, or at least for the length of GenCon, people who honestly care about one another, people comforting others during hard times, people laughing with others and not just at them, and people who look beyond the "noob" status and say "Hey, come on in. We'll answer your questions."
I see tons of highly creative people who thrive off of the feedback and ideas they get on this board, myself included.
I see people who risk ridicule in contests like IronDM or CeramicDM simply because they want to expand their creative boundaries and learn from what others think about their work, not because they want to "win it all."
I see people who can go from posting a thread on things that make Eric's grandmother blush to posting things about RPGs, poetry, and rules.
I see people who can post semi-political threads that sometimes get derailed but stay relatively friendly and respectful, a rare thing indeed on today's Internet messageboard.
Overall, I see EN World as one big family. If you equate it to a physical bar, it's a place you walk in and immediately become overwhelmed by all the people talking in small clusters at the tables. But once you start participating in their conversations, or start one yourself, you are asked to pull up a chair and join them.
So, to all who make this possible, I have say to thanks and I look forward to posting and reading on here for a long time to come.
