Lowcountry Low Roller
I stumbled upon this over the weekend. Are my eyes deceiving me? How much do you think critical role make in a month?

Still trying to get my head around it...

I agree. Thats pretty low given its 10+ people. And DnD is awesome!

(and its not just DnD, they are doing a range of shows).

I never heard of these guys - but clearly if 4500 people are willing to give them their money, they are really doing something right!!!

Right in the intro they say they are the spiritual successor to an unnamed game... so I did some research and found this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GameTrailers , specifically something called tabletop adventures. I guess I will have to check it out...

14,000 subscribers at $5/ month. So a lot. But that pays for the whole site and is shared with other shows.

People paying money each month adds up quickly.
But when you have to edit videos it quickly becomes a job.

After a bit of investigation, it seems that it's 36 000$ for the entire "Easy Allies" thing (the successor to Gametrailer.com), not *just* the D&D game...

Some of these "shows" are mighty good and i enjoy them whenever i have the free time. I've picked up quite a few RP tips from critical role i.e.

I don't know... I couldn't get into Wheaton's Titansgrave. Then I heard about Critical Role, gave it a try but I couldn't get into it either. I concluded that this type of entertainment "wasn't for me", despite me being a gamer etc. But then I saw Chris Perkin running ravenloft and well, I'm hooked. I'm not sure why since the production value and quality of the players is arguably lower... but I've kept watching.
