360 or PS3?

LCDs can't display 1080i. In fact, only CRTs can display 1080i. Now, most LCDs, DLPs and Plasma's can ACCEPT 1080i, but they will only (and CAN only) display at their native resolution and refresh rate.
Display? Yes. Process? Different issue. You still need the hardware to process 1080P, and it can be hard to find on a 42" unless you're going top shelf.

Bottom line, You don't NEED 1080P over I, as TV won't be P and that will be a majority of your viewing eventualy. The P is nice, but 1080I is just fine for 95% of the market.

Also, the Wii has a horrid attach rate. I think a lot of folks bought the Wii and have been playing nearly nothing buy Wii Sports the entire time. Sure the nintendo fans got Zelda, but otherwise for "real games" there haven't been a lot that I've seen.

I brought a Wii and I was planning to buy a PS3 next year, when most of the interesting games would be out -- not only I distrust Microsoft's quality control but, also, I think the hard disk and the blue-Ray disc will eventually give the PS3 an edge over the 360. However, after I got the Wii, I am pretty sure I don't want another console. I am totally sold to gesture controls and I always can get 360/PS3 like games in my PC.

I'm curious which 50" plasma did you get? Here's Mine. I also recently bought a PS3 but am currently only playing PS2 games as none of the PS3 games hold interest for me just yet. I'm awaiting things like the new Ratchet and Clank, GTA IV, Metal Gear Solid and some other titles. That and seeing where the current tide has shifted concerning the current format war I wanted to get a Blu-Ray player although there's nothing out in Blu-Ray that I'm interested in getting as I'm not looking to get something in Blu-Ray that I already have on DVD. I'm thinking about picking up 300 as my first Blu-Ray purchase, but I havent seen the movie yet. I might just wait until something that I have seen comes out (Ratatouille, Transformers) come out and get that.

I haven't done a ton of gaming on it yet but I have watched a bunch of demos and Blu-Ray movies. They look so frickin' awesome I could just pass out. :)

I have 300 sitting here waiting to watch it with the SO (who liked it more than I did!).

I don't have an HD, was considering one for next year, probably just a 32" or 37". How is the 32" for difference compared to a regular TV?
Excellent for all things widescreen. Fine for everything else. Awesome for HD viewing, not so much for standard def.

I didn't want to seem too harsh to all you poor PS3 guys...

Now, let me go back to play my Bioshock demo again...

:)
Played the demo yesterday on PC. Good stuff.

Watched a Blu-Ray movie last night on PS3.

Charged up my 360 controllers for weekend gaming. :p
