So what's the word Cov? Who's taking the new spot, I'd like them to get in on the current situation if possible, don't know if it will soon be worth EXP.

Well, I haven't heard anything from our earlier recruits, so they must not be watching. So Walking Dad gets the spot, if he's still interested. Looking forward to seeing the finished version of that monk.

Thanks. Any specifics for the background? Don't want to mess with your established world.

Some of us are still here. It wasn't exactly clear you were re-recruiting, though.

Sorry for stealing your spot. Hope you aren't angry and to play with you in 'The Fallen' game.

Caged Fury, Razorclaw-Shifter Monk 21
"Meditate on the wisdoms of the Panther God and find truth.."

Caged, or 'Panther' (as he is called as stage name here) is relative new to the arenas of Arkhosia, spending his last years in the pits of Bael Turath. Time will tell, if he can win the crowd...

In the Arena, Fury tries to single out the most dangerous opponent and goes in for the kill. This can be helpful for a team, but he prefers one against one matches.

[sblock=Background]Background: Criminal (Assassin).
Caged Fury is part of a line of shifters that overly often produce offspring with a dark complexion and a feline appearance. Traditionally, these shifters are put into custody of the Panther cult to serve at it's guardians and assassins. Fury strongly beliefs and is proud of this tradition. He served the cult well, until evidence was found for his betrayal. He got framed.

A patron and strong supporter of the temple persuaded them to give him fury as a slave, so he could fight in the arena for him.
[/sblock]

[sblock=Description]Fury look much like a human, with a bit darker complexion, slightly pointed ears and teeth and catlike yellow eyes. All these changes become much more pronounced when he shifts when hurt.
He is pride and has a very catlike demeanor and mannerisms with some big difference: He doesn't like to play with his prey.
His voice is a full baritone that is sometimes accompanied with a growl.

Fury wears tight dark clothing with a hint of red and black sandals. He doesn't talk much during battle and let's his actions speak for him.

Nope -- not angry at all. Maybe envious. Have good fun.

Covaithe, no worries. I do understand, though I do think you are expecting a lot of your lurkers. Following the IC thread and watching the Talking the Talk titles should be enough, I'd've thought. I, and Pyrex too I expect, am just a PM away, if you should find yourself with another gap.

Great gaming. KS.

And here I thought I was leaning things in your favor by not updating the thread title and getting twenty new folks in here. Sorry; next time I'll PM. Thanks for your understanding.

@WD: No mechanics notes just yet, because there's not much mechanical in there to comment on. Do you have a CB file you can send me? Username on gmail is covaithe. If not, that's cool, I'll just have to try to build it myself in CB from your notes. Only mechanical comment: off the top of my head, 1d8+13 looks like low damage for an epic BMA. Are you sure it shouldn't be 2d8? And I'm guessing that your minor magic item purchases, e.g. bracers, will bump it up further?

Regarding background, we can certainly work with what you have. It would be convenient if you could find some reason to be in Zvomarana already; a pilgrimage of your own, perhaps, or to seek out a famous trainer among the monks who live there. Hmm... further brainstorming follows... what you've got there for background seems to indicate that you're still a slave. Why would an epic warrior continue to suffer slavery, when you could easily win your way free by force, or even purchase your freedom with your winnings, or wagers made on you on your behalf? Perhaps you've been free for a while, but still fight in the arena for your own reasons? That would be consistent with taking a few months off to seek a famous trainer.

You've got Criminal (Assassin) down as a background; would Fury actually take a contract to kill someone for money? That would make an interesting hook. ;) Or, might he perhaps hire out as a mercenary? That could be useful.
