[4e] covaithe's E1: Death's Reach

@KS: At least you were chosen before me in the other game ;). See you :)

@covaithe: No, I think the 'base' BMA doesn't double the die at level 21. And No monk at-will counts as BMA. On second look, nor do the at-wills double . Must be an error, can someone with an functioning DDI account recheck?

Normally he should do 2d8+13 (+7 if the target made an opportunity attack against me the round before) +7 to all enemies adjacent to Fury.

My combo would be: Rising Dragon Fire (5d6+13 +7 to all enemies adjacent)
AP: Three Winds Kick (1d8+20+2d6) x 3
-> average damage if all hit: 5d6/17,5 + 20 + 3(1d8/4,5 + 20 + 2d6/7)/94,5
=132 (without possible crits)

If he has already used Rising Sun Technique, this goes up by 16 and he crits on 19-20. On a crit, he also blinds the opponent (save ends).
Can also use sacrificial weapon ability to weaken.

If he was hidden, quite possible with his stealth (and he is starting with concealment at each encounter), he adds another 1d6/ attack = 4 in this round. (shadowdancer gloves)

Background:

His first fight in the arena, that changed his outlook:

His initiation as a Moon Knight (Guardian/ Assassin of his temple):

His prophecy / epic destiny (already fulfilled by now?):

He (somehow) left the arena and started to fulfill his destiny. The criminal (assassin) background was the closest think to a temple 'killer'.

Now, in closer contact to his god, he can certainly work also freelance and on inspiration of his god.

BTW, I love this image for my character (when shifted):

Must be an error, even in the most recent update for the builder, it still only does 1dx damage with at-will, but his basic melee attacks do increase.

If that combo is any indication, he looks pretty solid, WD.

I am curious why DDI still shows 1dx with the at-wills ... that doesn't strike me as something they would nerf for only one class.

So I've put Fury together in the CB as best I can. Here are my notes:

I can't make your ability scores add up to a 22 point buy. I max out at Str 14, Con 14, Dex 26, Int 13, Wis 24, Cha 13. Going up to 17 con puts me at -5 on the "points left" meter. Am I missing something?

Going with Con 14 makes your Fort defense 32 instead of 33, gives you 3 less HP, and... somehow I ended up with 11 surges/day, instead of 10 like you've got down. Huh? Oh, I see, I forgot to retrain Durable for Fleet Footed. Right. 9 surges/day, then.

I have your will defense at 35 instead of 34. Did you forget the +1 from Efreetweave?

Focused Expertise looks like falls under the category of feats that I've replaced with a flat bonus to hit at 5/15/25. So you effectively get that for free and get another feat to spend at level 8.

You get a bit of money back for taking a level 19 neck item instead of a level 20. I make it that you have 118,000 left to spend.

Radiant Fist grants you a Channel Divinity feat. CB seems to think that the only one available is Divine Rage, from Dragon Annual 2009, of all places. That's surely wrong; I'd think you can take what you like for Channel Divinity feats.

Powers... Yeah, this is going to be the part where it sucks to be running a playtest class. Let's change some things up.

Let's bump the monk at-wills up to 2[W] at level 21, like every other at-will power in the universe.

Let's call Dancing Cobra's attack technique a basic melee attack. However, I think it should either target AC instead of Reflex, or not get a weapon proficiency bonus. I'd prefer having it target AC. Thoughts?

Harmonious Discipline.... +7 temp HP is laughable. Let's call it +14 instead.

Nothing else jumps out at me.

Str 11 (1) +2 (level 11, 21) 13
Con 14 (5) +2 (level 11, 21) 16
Dex 18 (9) +2 (level 11, 21) + 4 (leve 4, 8, 14, 18) +2 (Chosen) 26
Int 10 +2 (level 11, 21) 12
Wis 16 (5) +2 (level 11, 21) + 4 (leve 4, 8, 14, 18) +2 (Chosen) 24
Cha 10 (2) +2 (level 11, 21) 12

Somehow confused this :eek::confused:

Corrected. Reduced Athletics, HP and bloodied by 1.

Durable stays. Con is 16. Surges = 12.

Yes, I did. Thanks. :)

Took Fleet Footed instead.

Would you allow Channel Divinity: Darkness Consumes (Divine Power 111)?

Great :)

I actually think this changes would be more trouble than worth. I can only use one set of full discipline powers per turn without spending an AP.
Hitting Reflex with weapon bonus is the same as the rogues Piercing Strike at-will. And (what I missed) basic attack doubles the die on level 21, too.

Harmonious Discipline.... +7 temp HP is laughable. Let's call it +14 instead.

Let's dodge this problem by taking the stealth skill power: Obscured Avoidance.

Changes made above. I think about using the encounter / EYNT version of my multi-class feat.

You still have some shopping to do, too, yes?

I haven't read your background links yet. I've been fairly out of it, last couple of days. This, too, shall pass...
