[4e] [ePoL] Heroic Souls IC (R6 Heian > Monsters > Eldan&Champy > Quinn > Silvi > )

[sblock=OOC]Missing is really irritating. And the whole group is on a terrible rolling streak...
:(

Incidentally the gray creature between you and Silvi is dead. Only the red ones are alive. I'll delete them next round to make it clearer.

I don't think you can challenge the big one in x33. Your challenge won't "stick" if you haven't attacked the target or ended your turn next to it.

You -can- shift to X25 (it's not difficult terrain and you can enter the squares of dead/helpless enemies) and challenge V34. You'd tighten up ranks and help take a little bit of pressure of Silvi (they have more trouble hitting you, and you're doing a lot better in terms of hit points).

[sblock=ooc]Heh. You're right about the divine challenge. I was pissed and i got confused  I wasn't sure the gray creatures were dead. If you allow it, Heian will definitely shift to w35, next to Silvi :hmm:[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Bad rolls are annoying for sure. Especially a string like this.

Consider yourself shifted and the shadow-rat-thing that was attacking Silvi challenged.[/sblock]

Thanks graf. These days I'm rolling incredibly badly on InvCastle in every campaign, not only this. Lots of 1s. Didn't succeed in a single roll in four days :hmm:[/sblock]

Silvi, still not sure why - or how - she know how to use these blades, swing her weapons again, chosing to focus on the two smaller creatures infront of herself.

Quinn shakes the daze off his head. With surprise, he watch the monsters attacking his companions. He blinked quickly, but reacted quickly too. He opened his book and pass through a few pages. Starting his conjurations, he waved his hands, and the arcane powers materialized in an orb of white energy. Quinn proyected the Force Orb towards the big creature next to Elan.
"Away with you beast! Away!"
The orb exploded in pieces of sharp shards, cutting the smaller shadow creature next to it.

Heian shifts closer to Silvi, trying to relieve the pressure and challenging one of the shadow rat things.
As golden light of Heian's rebukue envelopes the creature it hisses pitifully "no... good... am good..." then Silvi cuts it down.

Several of the creatures break. "Stand firm! Paradise awaits!" howls the larger creature who had been mocking Eldan earlier, but the creatures show no sign of stopping their darkened forms becoming indistinct will o'wisps beyond the light of Eldan's helm.

Flanked by its larger brethren one of the smaller creatures remains, leaping forward to nip at Eldan [3 dam]

Ignoring his attacker Eldan steps forward to make a viper's strike [7 dam] at the larger creature menacing Silvi.

Quinn, finally roused into action, launches a powerful that slams Eldan's mocker, and releases a concussive wave that slays remaining little creature. A moment later its brave words still hanging in the air the mocker has slunk away into the darkness.

Hissing in frustration the final creature bolts away, slipping under Silvi's blade and to freedom.

[sblock=OOC]Silvi's last attack was the OA from Eldan's viper's strike.

The creatures all shifted and then used their standard to run, scattering into the forest in different directions.[/sblock]

Eldan's helm ceases emitting its red glow, floating back down into his hand. The bank is eerily quite now, save for the rippling sound of the river.

The bodies of the shadow creatures shudder and shift before your eyes growing and changing in silence until they become those of men and women. Unclothed, with hair and fingernails that looks like it has never been cut, they range in age from their 20s to their 40s.

The stubby figure approaches Eldan, it's hand raised for a warriors clasp.

Up close, it is obvious the creature is no dwarf, in fact it's like no creature you recall ever seeing before. It most closely resembles a mushroom; albeit one that grew arms and legs and started walking around. What you mistook for a broad brimmed hat in the dark is in fact part of its head, the cap of a mushroom.
It's white leathery flesh is covered with scars, it has only three digits on its hands and three small holes in its face. To where a pair of eyes would go and one for a mouth. The mouth doesn't seem to actually lead anywhere, though it moves animatedly no sound arises.
It appears naked and has no equipment save for a large piece of petrified wood.

Eldan stares for a moment, then steps forward to grasp the creature's arm. You fought well, and we thank you, he says. I feel that I know you, though I have never seen anything like you. Who are you?
