D&D 4E 4e Monster Manual excerpt

Nah, AZRogue, I think that's rather wishful thinking of you to see that there might be more to the Charming Kiss-ability than what is listed here. :\
There doesn't need to be much more, and don't forget that all these things listed are combat-relevant abilities. Also, it would be against one of the design-goals if people needed to backflip between pages to find out how an ability really works.

If it feels too "gamey", that's probably just the result of the devils actually using interesting team tactics that genuinely fit their flavor.

If that flavor is banana nut guacamole. I personally do not like the idea of devils popping around, transposing, playing shuffleboard with the wizard, and yelling, "Go team!" I'm in favor of more traditional menacing.

Yeah, I think that "Charm" is the new catch-all for "Mind-Affecting Effect." Then again, "Reliable" contained additional information, but I don't know how I you could reconcile it with the warlock's powers that are marked as charms.

I think Demons are meant to be the traditional big bad menacing avatars of destruction you might be thinking of. They wanted to make Devils different and the niche they've created for them does seem to have a lot of potential for those DMs and players who love good tactical combats. You can always have a Demon if you want big, bad, and brawny.

It's all good. I've offered The Rouse a million dollars in another thread to clarify the succubus entry for me. Every man has his price and, judging from the pretty-boy haircut The Rouse sports around, he could use the cash. ;)

But doesn't this make you feel powerless at the side of the devils? ;)
The idea that they're really just toying with you, putting you whereever they want, and then just let their minions smash you into oblivion gives them the feeling of being absolutely menacing and haughty. :)

One thing is for sure: the devils deserve a lot more care when designing their encounters. I wouldn't just throw some devils together without feeling comfortable with the synergy of their tactics because that's half their bang. And a big bang it can be.

I'd sincerely rather do that than dole out a bunch of skill points to some advanced or classed devils.
