So here's a question, somewhat related to the class templates: are the bouts going to be back to back, so that dailies used in one will not be available in the next? I'm not sure which way I'd do it, or which I prefer - as far as actual vs. PC combat is concerned, a daily might as well be an encounter. Could be different here, though ...

How are monsters, who summon other monsters, exp treated? count just the base monster, or every possible monster they can summon as well?

Heh! I though about something similar too... with undeads though... maybe next time

I'm very curious to see how the other participants will balance the levels of their monsters. Like, if anyone will try a solo, or try two elites, or a number of mid-level monsters... I'm looking forward to this very much.

Email your team to covaithe - he referred to his email address in the first post of the thread. As for format ... I dunno. Though if you're not using monsters strictly as-is from the books, or from books that he doesn't have, he asked that you send him stat blocks too.

As for summoning monsters, I'd think that they'd be included in the summoner's XP value. That's how they'd be treated when building an encounter, so I anticipate that's what covaithe will say.

Yeah, I'm very curious about that too. I had so many ideas rolling around in my head, it was hard to decide what approach to take. Even the mix of roles that different people use will be interesting to see.

or alternately I'm fielding 64 halfling stouts. Minions with missile weapons and second chance.

1. Yes, there's still room. At the moment, I only have 3 submitted teams. It sounds like there's enough interest for an 8-team tournament, with me filling in the missing places with my own teams. Come to think of it, I'll probably publish those teams while you can still make changes.

2. Yes, email your teams to me. my username at gmail.com, or use the "send email" link from clicking on my name to the left.

3. For summoned monsters, I assume you mean like a pit fiend's Infernal Summons ability? (MM p.65; that's the only MM example I found with a quick search) If so, then yes, summoned monsters don't count as part of your xp budget. They're built into the summoner's xp.

Excellent. I am re-thinking my team as well, but those 64 halfling's sound like fun
