[4e][Paragon] Kombat Kraziness (closed)

I had a great time also, it was cool to see a higher level cleric in action (a pair of them no less) and other cool effects. The only other games I've seen are 1st-ish level, but I'm glad that it seems to scale well into the paragon tier, as all classes seemed to be effective pretty much equally (unlike the previous edition when spellcasters really kicked @$$ by this level).

I am sorry about that. I'd be happy to try to bookmark and come back (it did occur to me), but given how many other people are in the cue it seems like it'd be years away.

And I think that, in a year or two, my understanding of the system will have advanced enough that I'll want to change the encounter significantly anyway.

I like Victim's idea.... it's quite Krazy. (especially if WD needs more time)

On the other hand it would, effectively, mean posting volumes that are three times as large... (if I understand it correctly)

Maybe we could build characters and start the first fight... then if it looks like the group can handle the load we can touch off a second fight.

for reference here's what the front page says (but I think victim said he couldn't find enough plants?)
First Post said:
  • Victim
1st Character: elven Cleric/Divine Oracle, or a human tactical warlord focused on powers that give people basic attacks
    Order: 3rd (provisionally)
    Proposed Kombat: Plants
  • Walking Dad
Order: #2 (has graciously made time despite being busy with his Base of Operations game ;) )
    Proposed Kombat: The Black Chauldron
    1st Character: Project Belkar

You are fine with changing order? Than I would DM after you.

Yeah, I'm fine with it. I'm not quite ready to go right now, as far as maps and tokens go, but I can get the first encounter started very soon, I hope.

Character creation: Level 13. 22 Point buy. PHB only. Standard magic item/wealth set up.

I was designing around 8 people; I'm not sure if we'll need to recruit more.

Plant monsters have attacked and destroyed villages in the area. The PCs, acting as local lords, wandering do gooders, mercenaries, or whatever you want, journey into the heart of the swamp to confront the force behind the attacks.

A dragon is known the inhabit the area. There have been unnatural storms over the swamp in recent days.

Cool set up. Maybe we should sound off for who's interested and what they'd like to play.

Oh, and you should mention how you feel about artificers and races like genasi...

Player's Handbook only. So no Dragon stuff, FR stuff, MM races, etc.

Yeah, it's cruel. But I'd like to have all the rules in the same place, not scattered through a bunch of PDF previews and playtest documents. Plus some things seem likely to change for things like the artificer. Having to deal with errata is bad enough.

I would like to try a high level fey pact warlock (yes, I know I have Tyron, but I want to see the class at paragon level)

Race: Human, Halfling or Half-Elf

Hmm.... Either a dwarven paladin to try and get a feel for the differences between the two defenders, or go in the opposite direction and try a wizard. Have to ponder that for now.

Hey, guys. I didn't manage to find this thread in time to get involved in the first round, but I've been following with interest since I did find it. If you find yourselves needing to recruit more players to fill out the roster, I'd like to register my interest. I'll play whatever's needed; I'm not picky. Of course, if you have enough already, that's cool too.
