[4e][Paragon] Kombat Kraziness (closed)

Ok. We said 8 but, while Rayex's post "landed first"; Dalamar's obviously pretty enthusiastic. I say we push membership to 10 (9 (!)players per session) and close.

Realistically with 9 busy people most of whom are DMs we can probably expect one or two people too busy to participate in a given combat?
Thoughts?

Jemal is dropping out for now (see below) so we're closed at 8 members.

Defender - Dalamar, Evilhalfling, Rayex
Leader - renau1g, Victim
Striker - industrygothica, Walking Dad
Controller - Redclaw

Dropped due to time constraints: Jemal

OK, Good news and Bad news.

The bad news(For me at least) is I'm going to have to pull out of this (both as DM as player).

The good news is I'm doing this b/c I've been thinking a lot and I'm goign to be running an actual 4E campaign starting above 1st level. I'll be posting up the OOC recruitment thread soon, anyone who wants is welcome to check it out. Good luck with the Krazy Kombat and I hope to see some of you over in my thread (once it's posted)

Con increases are retroactive, see page 27.
This pleases the math incompetent (me!).

I came up with ideas for another group of encounters, involving plants.
Plants are cool!

Lets put characters in the character thread (if, for no other reason than it's a pain in the but to find them if you have to go back page after page).
And, of course, it'll give me an idea of how ready we are.

How long do you think it'll take for everyone to get their characters built?

:) Very cool!

If you get time later we'll work you back in (as a player if nothing else)!
(with 8 "permanent members" we've realistically got months of encounters available anyway)

Both my cleric and warlord are about 95% done. They each have ~10k cash to spend, and the cleric has an open feat. And they need to be typed up.

Maybe I should just post them both right now.

I think my character is finished, minus some minor equipment.

Thanks for all the advice, I took it all. The hp rules still seem a bit strange to me, but since they're easier and more beneficial I'm not complaining. ;)

Anyway, Gharesh is up in the RG if you would take a look at him please.

Warlord is up.

Evilhalfling, you don't get all those powers. At higher levels, low levels can get replaced. You'd have 3 encounter and daily attack (not utility powers) powers from the fighter class, plus those from you paragon path. See page 29 of the PHB. Your non-AC defenses seem 4 points too low. And I don't think you need to pay for a boat that you don't have anymore - I'm pretty sure that current wealth, not lifetime wealth is what's being limited.

Industry, you should have +3 AC since your +4 chain can be Forgemail. Also, Bloodthirst only adds to melee damage, so it might not be what you want.

Redclaw, FYI, the Orb of Imposition can only extend the duration of At will powers... I've seen the ability misread in other places, and your description isn't entirely complete. And, err, you don't have magic armor.

I was very unhappy when I found this out. Orb sucks right now. There is a five page post on 4e rules about how cloud of daggers is really "the best at-will ever" so there is some debate but...

Sucks is a little extreme. The Orb is still nasty for wizards who want their Dailies to stick on enemies. But it's not so generally useful.

The cleric is up now. Which do people think would be more useful? Of course, if ren was doing a ranged cleric too, then I wouldn't pick that one.

The cleric needs to buy rituals or other stuff. The warlord has an open feat, and some money - which could be spent buying basic attack boosting items for other people who don't already have them.

Evilhalfling, I think you copied over my power descriptions, but forgot to check everything to work according to your character. Notably, your at-wills don't deal damage on a miss due to lack of Hammer Rhythm, Tide of Iron pushes only one (no Gloves of the Ram), and Unbreakable should only reduce damage by 7 (5 + Con mod).

Without a doubt, the Warlord seems like the better of the two with regards to synergy with Darrak, as more attacks are always nice (plus the warlord is more likely to be within range to heal him).
