[4e][Paragon] Kombat Kraziness (closed)

Woot! 13 extra hit points (which is more than half of a healing surge for glib of the 6 surges a day) and a dead bb! Good round!

[d]--[/d]

I still think that just saying pulls/pushes are direct and all forced movement is either a pull/push/shift would be the easy/simple way to do it.
While nobody has ToI I -can- shift two creatures three squares on a hit with an encounter...

[d]--[/d]

I don't suppose you'd be willing to share some of your aura tokens for map tools...? m(__)m

You still have to spend the surge.

Slide - shifting is what you do, sliding is what's done to you. Or by you, since you're the one playing the artful rogue.

And your Tornado Strike slides 5, not 3 (the power lets you move 3), so that'd be enough to toss someone into a fire wall even if the extra movement cost applied.

The aura tokens were really easy to make, actually. I took a paint program - I used Paint.NET since this computer didn't have MS paint on it for some reason - and did a fill of the color I wanted. Then I took the Tokentool - from the same place as maptools - and made tokens out of them, picking a mostly clear square frame and setting the transparency down to about 50% or so. Then I just brought them into Maptools, adjusted the size, and used Arrange to send them to the back. Unfortunately, I can't get the custom size thing to work right - I can select custom size, which sets the token to a non standard size, but then I can't adjust it to what I want and I haven't bothered to watch the tutorials again - so I just put down a few of the tokens to create Xak's and the BWD's size 3 areas.

But I can send you the token files if you give me an address, AIM ID, orsomething. They have great names like "Blue square" and "Red Square."

My collection of other textures, tokens and other maptools assets is anemic though.

Do we still need to make extra free attacks against BB1? I'm slightly confused, and also posting in a hurry 'cause I'm on the way to work.

sorry glib, I was looking at that power as burst instead of blast, and Xax is also out of range and taking more damage. I still have a soothing word for next round.

Make sure they are on the object layer instead of the token layer. IIRC, that'll let you change it to a custm size.

If you guys have never visited Cartographers Guild :: Homepage, I strongly suggest you do so. These guys are insanely good at what they do, and every map, token, or other piece of art they do is generally free for the taking (I say generally even though I've never seen one that was not... just covering bases). There are a couple of diehard maptool users over there, including the guy who wrote the thing, so a visit might be worth your while. Some of the battlemaps they've put out are amazing. But don't look too hard, 'cause the ones I made for my KK adventure are there, too. ;)

FYI Apparently the keyword is hindering terrain (DMG pg 44)
[sblock=Hindering Terrain]Hindering Terrain: Forced movement can force
targets into hindering terrain (page 61). Targets
forced into hindering terrain receive a saving throw
immediately before entering the unsafe square they
are forced into. Success leaves the target prone at
the edge of the square before entering the unsafe
square.
If the power that forced the target to move allows
the creature that used the power to follow the target
into the square that the target would have left, the
creature can’t enter the square where the target has
fallen prone.
If forced movement pushes a Large or larger creature
over an edge, the creature doesn’t fall until its
entire space is over the edge. On the creature’s next
turn, it must either move to a space it can occupy or
use a move action to squeeze into the smaller space
at the edge of the precipice.
A DM can allow a power that pushes a target
more than 1 square to carry the target completely
over hindering terrain.[/sblock]

I don't know if it's just random but, deft strike is turning out to be fantastically useful. That's twice now that it's enabled an attack that would otherwise have been impossible.

Yes, I deeply regret not taking deft strike with my rogue in another campaign. Definitely the first thing to be swapped out if I get the chance.
