D&D 4E 4e . . . the RIFTSization of D&D!!!

Ok, I just can't help myself!

It'll be RIFTSized if the following happens:

There is such a total disparity of power between classes that it makes me cry. See the following example-

Player 1-I'm a Rogue Scholar! I have a laser pistol and a suit of Megadamage armor! I can read! I like to teach others to read!

Player 2-Hey! I'm a Glitterboy. I have a walking tank that can level entire buildings in a shot. I don't care if I can read.

Don't forget Player 3, the Vagabond, who walks around in a flimsy suit of armor, carries around a toothbrush, a bar of soap, a plastic bag, and several pieces of candy, who can't even read.

What about player 4 who really wanted to play a Super Genius in Heroes Unlimited and ended up getting one shotted by a 1d6 mega damage laser pistol during the badguy's first combat action (of 6).

Heh, I remember a game from years back where one player was playing a Glitter Boy, and the other was playing a Millennium Druid, I think. We'd surrounded the enemy, but unfortunately, the GM thought it'd be a good idea to roll for crossfire. So the Glitter Boy fires his Boom Gun and misses one of the bad guys. But because the Millennium Druid was in his line of fire, the GM rolls, and yep, he got hit. Talk about tense! The Druid was only wearing 60 MDC magical bark armor. So the Glitter Boy player rolls for damage one d6 at a time. He rolled a 3... then a 2... then a 1! 60 MD on the Millennium Druid, blowing his armor right off. :D Geeze, had he rolled a seven on his 3d6 roll instead of a six that Druid would've been reduced to ash. Naturally, as soon as the Druid's turn came around, he got out of the Glitter Boy's line of fire as quickly as possible (All the while staying out of sight of the enemy, who could've vaped him with a 1d6 MD laser pistol).

Can I be the SDF 1*?

*after refitting all it's armor to mdc instead of using its sdc value

Um... the SDF-1 ALWAYS was MDC. The Robotech RPG (produced by Palladium) introduced the concept of MDC.

Personally I want a Headhunter piloting a Veritech Hover Tank. Not only does it have laser resistant armor in a world where the laser is the most common MDC weapon but it has Arm Shields with 600MDC each and it can parry energy attacks with them. The 3d4x10 MDC Ion Cannon that it sports ain't bad either. There ain't no ION resistant armor in Rifts. :)

God how I loved Robotech. :)

LOL! I forgot about the trusty Vagabond!

K. Glitterboy, cyborg and juicer are taken.
Psi-Stalker Baby. With mutant powers. I'll take invulnerability, extraordinary PS and PP. Er… Strength and Dexterity.
