wolfcannon said:from what ive seen of what WOTC is doing to 4E, im not impressed, nor will i buy this product. Killing of a major deity in FR, Removing a Core Race to replace it with the Orc Race, Adding Bane to the Core Gods, i personally refuse to accept or use any 4E product at this time.
First, this won't be the first time a major deity's been killed in the FR. I suspect it won't be the last. in fact, didn't they kill the goddess of magic to make way for the transition from 1e to 2e?
Second, they've announced the mystery race? Great! Where can I find the announcement? Besides, I still maintain that it's going to be goblins, not orcs. We have no idea what the monster entry for gnomes will look like. What if it's identical to the write ups of races in the PHB, with a bonus statblock for a generic gnome illusionist? They have indicated that some monsters in the MM will be playable straight from that book. Why get yourself all riled up before we know anything?
Third, it's been over 15 years since I played a Greyhawk game. I'm tired of them getting Pelor in my Dark Sun, Ravenloft, Forgotten Realms, Planescape, and Eberron. The pantheon presented in the PHB is for people who haven't built their own or selected a formal setting with its own pantheon. I'm not in that audience. Given your concerns about Forgotten Realms Gods and their health, I suspect you're not either. This is the easiest thing in the world to remedy too. In my homebrew, which I just devised, there's no god named Bane. He's Enab. Pretty nasty rotter too.
Finally, we're in total agreement about one thing. I refuse to use any 4e product at this time as well.
Okay, maybe refuse is too strong a word. I don't have access to any 4e products yet, so I can't really use them. I'll take a look at them when they start coming out. Hell, I may even* use them. But I'll wait to make a decision until I can look at what's there.

* Okay, full disclosure. I'm afflicted with chronic ADD. I will probably pick them up because they're new and shiny. If I have time to play, then great! If not, c'est la vie.
