"Then lets get out of here!" Copper says as he travels north to the light.

OOC: Moving in that general direction, but keeping the rope tied if possible, we might need it again
 

Lights flicker in the cave, as Urgan struggles to understand what's going on. The glowing of the crystals produces a haunting, pallid look in the flesh of his comradesand the screams of the kobold workers reverberate through the cavern.
 

Team Caves

Shamal and Urgan both targeted the Houndsman with their particular magic, which seemed to cause the crystals around them to glow increasingly brighter.

"Those crystals are unstable, you fools!" called the wizard Valendra as she moved further away from them and cast a spell of her own that caused illusory duplicates of her to pop into existence.

The mercenary at the far end of the chamber fired his crossbow, striking Merrick with a quarrel, before taking cover by moving down a tunnel leading southward. With the other mercenary guard's torch lying on the ground, sputtering, the mid-part of the chamber grew dark with shadows.

Torhak came to help Merrick, but by the time the dwarf arrived, Merrick had killed the first of the two dogs. Torhak threw a knife, but the dog jumped over it as it leaped on Merrick's chest. Merrick stumbled while trying to fend-off the dog with his polearm.

A cultist used the dog's distraction to get past Merrick, and he lunged at Shamal with a serrated dagger.

With the sound of barking, snarling, shouting, and spellcasting, the kobolds all moved away from doing their dig-work and filled the darkest part of the chamber with a mass of them, their high-pitched shrieks added to the din.

OOC: Houndsman is Held, AND surrounded by illusory snakes. Merc2 shot Merrick for 7. Then the Dog jumped on him for 6 & if he fails a dc12 STR Save, he falls Prone. Cultist2 did 8 to Shamal, who I guess should roll Concentration for Hold Person.

Team Infiltrate (on the run)

Stryke led the group up a steep slope and through a wide cave-mouth, as the fanatical cultist sent another bolt of fire that exploded on a nearby wall, thankfully missing everyone. The cultist fell behind as they climbed into an open chamber. The dim light of the Drow's dancing motes gave way to a patch of sunlight that came down from a chimney and shone on an enormous broken obelisk, fallen from its base, but lying at an angle that made its tip seem to point the way through the mountain to the sky overhead, at an angle.

OOC: Still in rounds ATM, but I assume that you all dashed to get here. Yes, that is Svetlana at the top of the map. She's Invisible, so no one would see her. It's up to @Steve Gorak if she'd still be there, or if she's flown to catch up to Aywin. I'm not sure.

Team Lake

Aywin was struggling to shove off the kayak, wedged in a tight spot in the fast-flowing tunnel. He was somewhat distracted with Svetlana, who was still exploring various parts of the Lake. Thankfully, Shade-9 made the difference, and their kayak came free, finishing its journey down the tunnel and plunging into the "Pit of Teeth" - the cavern where stalactites and stalagmites made the appearance of a gaping maw.

Bjorn was there, observing the lizardfolk's eyes that reflected off of the glowing longsword, held by Loklafd, as he and Darius turned their own kayak for shore. The chamber was large, and from the far, southern shore, another light appeared, as a rather large, muscular lizardfolk hefted a trident that glowed with a soft light, enough to make out his features - a cruel-looking, scarred face.

The two lizardfolk guards had moved as if they would attack Guldred, but the larger lizardfolk called out, first an order in their garbled language, then in broken common, "Hhold! Yhu brring zhe outcazzt Guldred, ahgainzht ourr lawz! But whee dohnno yhu! Who izzhet whe szpeek to? Whhudd yhu want?"

Shamal feels his temple throbbing and knows that the miscreant is held in place, and feels an urge to go to him.

Yet there is another cur in front of me with the audacity to plunge a dagger in me? Feeling the rage in him mount at being obstructed, Shamal swings the saif-al-bedawi, but his anger is writing a promise that his tired muscles cannot fulfill as his first two swings miss. Nevertheless, the cur is confused by the flashing blades, and Shamal quickly uses the speed and force of the miss to send his shamshir into a long curving arc that goes past the cultist into the air and down upon his head while Shamal channels the full power of the djinn into this blow, feeling the strength of his faith power the blade with a force his body lacks.

Since you did not fall to my words, you will fall to my blades! We will set free the tribes of the mighty Urbone over your corpses, if that is your true desire!

Concentrating on the distracting visions for the houndsman, Urgan walks up and swings at the last remaining dog, but utterly fails to connect.He feels his age, believing he was once more coordinated than this. It isn't true.
